Went here with my family last week and had a good time, but there were a few things to note.
ATTRACTIONS:
The first wagon ride was fun and very interactive with lots of scare actors. The whole park was very well staffed and that was refreshing.
The haunted trail was a lot of fun and was my personal favorite part, it had a lot of scares for the whole family and was decently long.
The mortuary haunted house was pretty spooly but it wasnt the scariest attraction, and was a bit short which was a little disappointing but was still enjoyable.
AGE RECOMMENDATIONS:
It wasn't too scary for little ones with all of the jumpscares. It was pretty graphic though, pretty much in most of the areas/rooms there were lots of dead people with severed limbs, guys hanging out, blood everywhere, and lots of morbid themes. There was also lots of scary sound effects like a man being burned alive and another man being sawed in half. However they weren't super realistic, though I just felt they were a bit unnecessary and got pretty excessive.
Another thing to note was how in the barn when we waited to load the wagon, their were several tvs playing highlight reels with audio of the most gruesome and gory kills in movies like Freddy Krueger, Saw, Leatherface, Krampus, etc which may be disturbing to your young children especially since it has audio which can be heard so you can't really avoid it if this kind of thing disturbs you and you usually spend quite some time waiting in that room to be exposed to that.
OVERALL:
In the end it was enjoyable and it was worth the ticket price. My whole family had a good night and so would yours. It wasn't too scary but I wouldn't bring real little kids unless they can take that kind of stuff. I'm glad I went here though and I would...
Read moreWent last night with some friends. 10/18/19. Drove an hour and a half because of the rave reviews. Was astonishingly disappointed. There were so many opportunities to be scared that were missed. We would come around a corner and there would be a spot where you think someone would be standing waiting to jump scare you and no one was there. On the hayride (which had zero hay) there were good props that would draw your attention to one side of the wagon, and you would expect a jump scare from the other side of the wagon, but nothing happened. The bonfire was nice considering it was a chilly night, and the lady at the little shop and the food stand were kind and considerate people. The ticket takers at the attractions seemed disenchanted and really didn't like their jobs. I will say the girl who played the nun in the haunted house was the only one who seemed to really like her job and wanted to set the ambiance for the haunted house. The coolest part of the house was the room with the fog and green lasers. Many empty rooms with no one in them, and the haunted trail had maybe five people in it. The hayride had the most people but as I said before many missed opportunities for scares. The woman at the shop said that there were a lot of call offs so I'm assuming that detracted from the experience. I kind of wished they would have just closed considering it seemed like over half the people that were supposed to be there, weren't. Cedar Point has better walkthroughs and haunted houses which really isent saying much. At least at cedar point (even with the overabundance of guests) they managed to jump scare me...

I attended Forest of Screams on October 18th and was very disappointed by how the evening was handled from start to finish. Upon arriving, I was confronted and threatened by another customer standing in a parking spot, and when I brought this to staff attention, I was told that I wasn’t the only guest who had this issue—yet nothing was being done to address it.
There was also a complete lack of communication about how the attractions were supposed to be experienced. There was no information about the order of the attractions on the website, and the only on-site sign explaining it was blocked by crowds of people. When I asked the manager on duty for clarification, he rudely told me that they “don’t have to advertise the order” because it depends on the number of customers.
We waited around 30–45 minutes just to get tickets, then another 45 minutes in line for the haunted hayride with almost no movement. When I tried to speak with the manager again about both the wait and the earlier safety issue, he yelled at me instead of helping. I was also told to find an officer on duty about the parking situation, but when I tried, the same manager confronted me again, continuing to be rude and dismissive.
The entire experience was chaotic, unsafe, and unprofessional. For the price and the reputation this event has, I expected a much better level of organization and customer service.
Suggestion: Consider implementing a reservation or timed-entry system to help manage the crowds better and clearly post the attraction order online so guests know...
