AMA Behavioral Therapy, PLLC — Local services in Shavano Park

I had a small accident on the way home from work and completely forgot my sons 5:30 appt. I didn't even realize till first thing the next morning when i was notified of a 113 dollar charge on my account from AMA. I had also missed a TMV appt with my own doctor that evening. The difference? My doctor called me the next day to make sure everything was okay, reschedule, and let me know i had a n/s charge and they would be billing to me, which was understandable. Be very wary of putting your card on file with AMA unless your okay with them taking money from your account when they wish. The "owner" was very patronizing and condecending as was the e-mail she sent AFTER I spoke with her over the phone. It was so very petty of her to send the email, because I had already cancelled my sons future appointments, and the conversation was over. Initially i was so excited when my sons doctor refered us because she spoke so highly of the facility and there is a lack of good mental health services in the area. Was charged 154.00 for being late on a virtual appointment. No accommodations were made despite being early for almost every other appointment. People seeking mental help are NOT CASH COWS. A conversation or payment plan would have been nice for those of us who are barely getting by. This is what makes addressing mental health difficult. This place makes sure they have their money first. Clients are not the priority. Do not come here if you want to be treated like a human being.
