Love INC Thrift Store — Local services in Shelby Township

This place is absoluty worthless, they have NEVER helped Me not one bit EVERY TIME I have asked or needed something!! 10 Years ago we first moved up here to Shelby in an old house. We slept in a tent for months before we could move into the old house. I went there asking for blanket (it was Fall and we were in a tent) I could visably see an area in the back corner with all kinds of bedding, the lady told me they didn't have anything. I said "I can see bedding stuff back there" she said it was "for registered people" or something like that, said it wasn't available. Then recently I moved to an apartment in December with My 5 year old Son, it took every bit of money I had to pay the security deposit and rent. I was told they help kids and people get beds through their wearhouse donation center - 'no kid without a bed' (something like that.) We'll I went there asking for help explained my situation (I desperately needed bed for child and I) they took down all my Information for an hour, told me I had to stay at the location for over a month with no beds before they could even help me, then I never heard back from them🙄 FYI we still sleep on air mattresses...

Cheaper than new as far as clothes go, yet kind of high for a second hand store, many clothing items in the 4 dollar range per item. Can add up quickly, I know money goes for a good cause, but store gets the clothes for free, and then sell the clothes. Prices are up with new store manager! Also books are no longer free, now a .50 cent Charge. Again, a change by the new store manager. Shelby is full of low income folks, not all are vacationers or middle class ladies who enjoy bargain hunting and yard sales as...

Very friendly staff, good deals on anything you see there, don't be afraid to ask if something isn't priced, you may get the bargain of the century by asking. The gently used medical equipment they have is great for those that can't afford new, and they are more than willing to help you get what you need.
