They bent or stole my rims. So apparently they don't have cameras in the service area. I took my car to get a oil change and tire rotation the Saturday before New Year's. They didn't even call to tell me my car was ready. I just realized that it was almost 2. Went to get my car and it was just sitting outside. They had even locked the service area. When I left going down 74 my car was driving horribly. By the time I called they were closed. When I took it back the next week the service woman trying to diagnose my car at her computer telling me it could be everything but them responsible. I told her my father said to bring it back and let's let the technicians tell me what it was since it's their job. When they called me to the back the service woman now talking about oh it's not what you thought, I asked what is it. She said I'll let them tell you. When I get to my car she's lingering around listening to him tell me that three of my wheels were bent. He then proceeded to tell me they have someone to come in and unbend wheels or something. I'm like what???? The service woman tells me that she has bent wheels and need to talk to them too. But remember when I came in she had all kinds of excuses as to what it could be never mentioning bent wheels since she apparently had them too. So I asked to speak to the manager. I told him what was going on. At first he tried to say they were probably bent before and I just didn't notice until my tires were balanced and rotated. Thank goodness for my father. He already told me years ago tires that are bent can't be balanced and that's what I told Darrell and Dwight. I also asked if my tires were bent why didn't the technicians advise me. They couldn't answer. At that time, I pretty much accused Cindy or whatever her name was of probably having one of those techs put my wheels on her car and was my car even serviced. I was really upset but contained myself as best I could. At first they tried to say my car may have already been in that condition but I asked if that was the case why wasn't I advised by the technician? They said the didn't know and he wasn't there. They gave me a refund on the oil change and rotation and balance and advised they would have the tire people to come at their cost. I was still skeptical. I took my car back the following week and they didn't show up after I took the day off so the asked me to bring it the following week. I did, this time the calls me at almost 2 telling me they never showed, even though I dropped my car off this time the day before and drove a loaner. I asked did y'all call them? He sounded confused but told me no.🙄. I called Dwight this time. At first he copped and attitude talking about he already sees where this is going. So I asked where is this going Dwight. He tells me I'm trying to hold them hostage to this situation! I was livid!!!! But, I remained calm and told him my intention has been the same, to have my car service so that it's working in good order. They had me come back the following week when the finally did what they said they were gonna do. But when I went to the back, they asked was I supposed to be responsible for the fee or them. They couldn't remember who it was on. I told them, I'm done with you all. This has been the worse service from a dealer I ever received. Moral to the story, until they get cameras in the service area be cautious about taking your car to Renaldo Honda. I can expect this type of service from shade tree mechanics or just off brand mechanics but not Honda. At first I wasn't going to do a review but folks need to know. Like I said I believe it was an inside job. I bet to this day Cindy or whatever her name is never had her wheels unbent because her buddy the tech swapped mine out! I could go on and on with other key details but I won't. Moving forward I will take my car to Gastonia or Charlotte to have my...

I scheduled service work for my 2013 Honda CR-V at Renaldo Honda in Shelby, North Carolina. It was scheduled to be worked on Wednesday 03/22/2023. My invoice number is 26074821. I advised service advisor Billy Melton that I needed to change out the VTC actuator, an oil and oil filter change, and NC vehicle inspection. He asked me why I need that part changed out. I told him per my research for what my vehicle was doing this is the repair that needed to be done. I told him that it would make a noise on cold starts only. He seemed to take offense to me telling him what needed to be done. His demeanor and body language changed drastically. He advised me that it would be about a five-hour job and should run about $550.00. Three days and 941 dollars later we were able to pick up the car.

I dropped the car off on Tuesday afternoon 03/21/2023, so they could start on it first thing Wednesday morning. I had a doctor's appointment in Shelby on Wednesday morning. I went by the dealership after my appointment just to check on the status. This was around 11 am. I was told by Billy that it was not ready and should be ready soon and he will call when it is ready. Around 4:30 pm I called the dealership and spoke to Billy, and he advised that they were not able to finish it today and will have it done tomorrow. I asked him why, he said "they couldn't get it to make the noise". I told him that it only does it on cold starts. He said, "oh, we parked it inside, so that is why." I told him cold engine starts; it doesn't matter what the air temperature is. He mumbled, "oh...ok that is right." Thursday morning 03/23/2023, I called the dealership and advised them that I was not trying to rush them, but I needed the vehicle to go to work the next day. I spoke to Harley, and she advised that she would tell Billy. I was under the impression that they didn't have much more to do. Around 2:13 Thursday afternoon I called back and inquired about the vehicle. I was told by Billy that they are almost done, and he will call when they are finished. At 4:37, Billy called me and advised that they would not be able to finish it.

Billy told me that they were not able to finish the vehicle, so I asked him why 5-hour job was taking 3 days. He said it was not a 5-hour job but a 6.5-hour job. So, I then asked him how a 6.5-hour job took 3 days. He stammered and mumbled "that well I had a mechanic call out sick on one of the days." I told him that was not my problem. He then offered me loaner car to go to work. I refused the car and thanked him for offering it. I told him I had to work the entire weekend and it would be Monday before I could pick up the car. He quickly advised no problem. I then asked him if I could pay via phone and have it picked up on Friday and he stated yes. I asked him what an estimated total might be. He stammered around and stated, "looks like about 950 dollars." I asked why is it $400 more than what he told me. He said they replaced the VTC actuator, serpentine belt, valve cover gasket, oil, oil filter, and did a safety inspection. He then stated, "I am only going to charge you for 4 hours labor and not 6.5 hours labor." I advised thank you.

As of right now, I do not have any issues with the mechanic work. What I have issues with is the customer service or in this case lack of customer service by Service Advisor Billy Melton.

Feel free to contact me regarding these issues.

Thanks in...

Brought wife’s vehicle in to get service today by tow since it wouldn’t start. Had this same problem before about 2 years ago and it was the battery. I didn’t think that would be the problem again this soon, so didn’t even check that. Sure enough, it was the battery again. 3rd battery in less than 3 years on her 2014 Crosstour??? Found out that when it was replaced the first time under warranty, the wrong battery was put in the vehicle. I was told that the battery they used worked the same, but obviously it might have lasted longer if the correct part was used. I asked if they were gonna help with any of the cost since the wrong one was placed in there, and I was told it wasn’t under warranty. Talked to the service manager, and he just gave me his card and told me they would check the new one during our next service to make sure it was working on, and they wouldn’t charge me to check it. Just didn’t feel like I was taken care of well enough. That’s a shame too, since I am in the market for a vehicle for myself and my 15 year old daughter. Everyone was super friendly, this the reason for rating 2 stars instead of 1. Will definitely be looking to trade my wife’s vehicle now as well since I know there may be a battery problem less than every year or so.

Update: they did refund me for the battery, and offered me lifetime oil changes to make up for the mistake. The manager is supposed to be emailing me info about the oil changes, so I will update again once we see how this goes.

Second Update: I did get the e-mail for the free oil changes. The contingent for this is that I have to have all of my other services completed at the dealership. We normally do that anyway, unless I can get it done cheaper somewhere else, the service manager had told me previously that they would price match services if we found them less expensively at a different dealership, so we should be good to go now. I am updating my review to 5-stars based on the care that the General Manager Scott has shown to correct this issue. I can only hope future experiences here go smoothly from...
