Harter House — Local services in Shell Knob

Update- went to the Harter House to get some taco seasoning and some cheese. I checked out the sale items and left with a half a cart full. The cheese is a bit more expensive than the competitors. But I saved on other stuff that the competitors are higher prices or just don't have. Great stop!

Original review- Harter House has some of the best meats, everyone should already know that. However, they have a great deli too. Their enchiladas are good, they have good chicken strips with gravy and the biscuits and gravy in the mornings are great! Harter has some good bargains all over the store. I always look for the sale and clearance items to find good bargains. A suggestion- make your menu/ grocery list based on their sales. You will spend less than you would at Wal-Mart and get much better...

For a tiny "town", there is no city limits or city government, we have a really good grocery store. They carry a wide variety of items. Being a small area prices are higher than stores in larger towns. They are very friendly. I do have one complaint. When checking out the cashiers will start ringing up the next person before the bags of the first person are cleared off the counter. So some of the bags on the counter are from 2 different orders. Grocery stores no longer have people to bag or carry out your groceries. I can deal with that but please at least let me get my bags, or better yet help me get my bags off the counter before you start the...

The lady working at the deli has the worst customer service i have ever experienced. My mom went in to get some breakfast and the older lady behind the deli (white, blonde) started purposely talking about how the “stupid tourists can go somewhere else” to my mother. As people with a cabin in Shell Knobb, we come down every weekend during the summer. This experience has rubbed us the completely wrong way and we will not be returning.
