Awesome rest stop with plenty to do exploring the trails and using the picnic areas, we actually sat at the top observatory and watched the sun set. Quick question did anyone else get creeped out by the dividing door to the restrooms though? I went in and was the only person inside the men’s restroom, the lights are nearly off it’s so dim, a couple minutes in I hear a out of place noise and when I leave the stall the dividing door is cracked open 6”! I washed my hands and went to the car for my wife to tell me the same exact thing happened when she was in the women’s and it freaked her out! Really nice...

Wish I would have taken pictures, maybe next time, but the North & South bound rest stops have hiking trails!! OMG, I’ve never seen that! Amazing job Idaho!! That is so cool & the rocks are so interesting to look at. I’ve stopped by the Craters of The Moon, which is a must experience I personally feel, so it’s cool to see the similarities here. The facility was also clean, nice & well put together. Definitely a good stop when passing by or just to visit &...

What a great little rest area to stop and stretch your legs. My dog and I really enjoyed getting out and running around. There are some interesting sites to see, and a nice little path that you can walk down. I wish that there was more of a selection of cheap water in the vending machine, but what they had was what you would expect. Overall it was clean, refreshing, and nice to get out and move on...

Southbound on I-15 rest stop. Great little stop to stop and stretch your legs. Right at the beginning they have a tower that you can climb to view the other rest stop across the interstate. Then they have this excellent trail to walk on to look at lava flows. The trail is paved and has lots of markers describe what you're looking at. It was great to walk the dog.

June 2022. Southbound rest stop was a pleasant surprise with a lava trail that’s also wheelchair accessible. The trail is completely paved but it is steep in some areas. There’s also picnic tables and benches along the way. There’s a dog designated area, but not fenced in. Pretty cool spot and good opportunity to stretch out if you’ve been in the car awhile.
