Well, hate to say it, but the more days that go by the more I hate my hair experience at Hollywood Hair in Shiloh. I spent about 6 hours to walk out with my hair looking terrible. The picture with white and dark gray is what was going for and I'm pretty much just overall yellow. They put every hair in foils to bleach, (a long process). It looked hideous and the ugliest overall bright yellow you have ever seen! They then added a few low lights and toner (twice), due to not happy at all with first results. Still looks yellow, and harsh. I repeatedly said don't make me look like a Barbie. When completed, another employee walked by and said, you look like Barbie! I went in to go white/gray, so as my hair grows out it will match better. Wanted to go natural, as my hair is growing out white. It was colored (low and high light foils) before and become brassy here and there. I hate the way this looks. It is so harsh and again not at all what wanted. They said it would be a "total transformation" if I did all this. It is definitely not! It was to many hours and way to much money. They charged me $469.00. The most I have ever paid by far and for nothing! They charge way to much additional for the product(s) they put on your hair as well. I have never been charged separate for the products they use in the process of coloring of any kind. It is normally incorporated in the cost. Either way, I feel screwed over and the worst is my hair looks like crap, and no where close to the 'transformation" promised. I feel I could of gone anywhere and just paid $25 for toner, and been better off. The bleaching process takes a major toll on your hairs integrity as well. I'm lucky that it doesn't seem fried and little hair loss or breakage, but I just have good base hair, because I have been told for years hair dressers, that they are shocked how little hair I loose when they color, wash my hair, etc. in any process have done. It does tend to be dry however, with out using great conditioners, so glad my hair isn't just falling out and breaking all over. I must add I thought the people were lovely, and I delt with a few of their color experts while there, but they messed up big time for whatever reason in the process, and charged a crazy amount. It took longer than I've ever experienced, and yet have a horrible outcome. I deserve compensation! I hate looking like this. It is harsh and yellow blonde. Exactly the opposite of what wanted and said they could do! I'm to old to look like a bar room Barbie! I just want to cry every time I pass a mirror. I am terminally ill, and it makes me so very sad that I have to go around looking like this a big part of the time I have left. What...

I found Shannon at Hollywood Hair through the recommendations of many people. The first time I went to the salon, I was a bit overwhelmed. They do a lot of upselling and if you don’t feel comfortable with saying no to them, this probably isn’t the salon for you. I decided to keep trying because I loved what they did to my hair, and I learned that when you say no they don’t blink an eye or treat you any differently! Even when you say that you have a certain budget, they don’t make you feel bad about that and they are respectful and come up with some options for you. Shannon has been phenomenal throughout my three years of coming to this salon! She starts off every appointment with asking me what I like and don’t like about my hair at that point, and what I’d like to work on. I love that! She realizes that sometimes you can’t duplicate how they style it in the salon and helps you work with your hair and your struggles. Shannon is friendly and extremely knowledgeable and explains everything as she’s going along. With all of that being said about Shannon, it has NEVER been just her working on my hair. I think almost every stylist in that salon has helped with my hair at some point and I love that because it helps shorten the time that I spend in the chair. Everyone is so nice and they talk to you and help each other, and I love that feel. The shampoo room is a dream and I could just spend all day in there, getting shampooed and ahead and neck massage! It’s so relaxing! People come around and offer you drinks (that you pay for) and warm cookies! I have had up to four people working to treat, color, or blow dry my hair at the same time. I absolutely love this salon. I have naturally curly hair and when I moved to the area about 9 years ago, I could not find anyone that could do my hair or would even listen to what I had to say. It always seemed like they would dismiss me and proceed to tell me what they thought I needed. It was so frustrating to the point I would drive 4-5 hours back to my hometown to see my person there. The first time I went to Hollywood Hair in Shiloh, I immediately felt like this was my place. It was cozy and the atmosphere was great. They do everything in their power to make sure you are comfortable. They LISTENED to me and gave me their opinion, they listened to my questions, listened to my fears, and ALWAYS treat me like they care. You always know your cost upfront and they’ll go over all of it step by step and have no problems answering any questions you have.

Keneesha does my hair and I adore her and her knowledge and expertise have helped me get my hair back on track, taught me the best way to take care of it to keep it healthy and I’m loving it. Bri does my lashes and brows. She pulls me out of my comfort zone and makes me feel confident about my “less than desirable” lashes and brows. They both take the time to get to know their guests which makes conversation easy and not awkward like some salons.

Not only do I trust Hollywood Hair of Shiloh with my hair and lashes, but I’ve brought my daughter to have her hair and makeup done, as well. The job they did on her hair and makeup for senior pictures and prom was gorgeous. I love that Hollywood Hair makes us feel like family.
