Dollar General — Local services in Shippen Township

For my review on Emporium's store let me start off by saying in the past few months its greatly improved a whole lot. I've been shopping there a long time and seen how it looked over the years and how bad it was until just recently. The isles were always blocked with stock carts, the shelves were always half empty, you couldn't find anything in the store before until a couple of months ago. Today (1-20-2024) I went there to get my usual stuff I get and was really impressed on how neat everything was with no stock carts blocking the isles with stuff waiting to be put away and how full the shelves and coolers were. Now granted there are a few things that didn't get shipped and there were a few empty spaces but the store has made a HUGE IMPROVEMENT thanks to the new manger Cristina Bailey and her great staff she has working for her. Cristina has brought the store back from looking like a dump to a pleasent place to shop and her and her employees are very frendly and helpful. I have to give my hat off to Cristina Bailey and her staff for doing such an amazing job on the store in such a short amount of time. If you see Cristina in the store tell her how much you appreicate her and her staff for bringing the store back to a pleasent place...

So tired of cashiers with attitudes. We are customers and dont deserve cashiers who handle the items we are buying by slamming them across the counter then giving the customer attitude when they ask you to stop. We are buying these items you didn't cashier and I dont care that you think you deserve better. You made a choice to work at DG stop treating customers like they dont deserve your time because we are keeping you paid...

Long lines at check out often. Normally only 1 person at register at all times and most often, cashier is nowhere in sight. They have however begun placing a squeak bottle at the register for customers to alert the cashier of customer ready to check out. Store is clean. Customer service itself is normally very attentive and mannerly. Often crowded aisle space and unstocked items or poorly displayed/cluttered items...
