DG Market — Local services in Silver Spring Township

I was so excited to finally have a dollar general locally, and to have it so close to my home. However, they absolutely never..and I mean EVER answer the phones. You could call for an hour consistently and never get someone on the line. Which wouldnt be an issue if their app had listed what they have in store. Every item on the app always shows out of stock for this location. I would visit much more frequently out of convenience if I knew they had what I needed and it wouldn’t be a wasted trip in the opposite direction of where I would instead have to go to the stores that would have it but are further. I had a terrible experience at Dollar General store #31435 on November 8,2025. From the moment I walked in, an employee followed me around the entire time I was shopping for no reason. I noticed that several white customers came in and were not followed. As an African-American, it was obvious I was being profiled, and it was humiliating and hurtful. I work hard every day as a essential healthcare professional and deserve to be treated with the same respect as anyone else. Discrimination like this should never happen...

It's a nice dollar general, the additions of produce and the extra freezers is great for anyone stopping on their way home, but with giant and Weis right down the road, I'd take the extra drive to go there.
