Sportsamerica Sports Cards — Local services in Silver Spring Township

Absolutely terrible place. The two old lady's are beyond rude. No customer service whatsoever. Who greets someone as soon as they walk in the door with "yes?" They may treat regulars better but for anyone new, take the extra time to drive somewhere else. I came here with a box of baseball cards from the early 50's and a box of error cards from the early 60's. Now, I know I'm a young female who is new to this hobby, (These cards came from my grandparents) but I'm not stupid so when the two old ladies told me they would buy both boxes of cards for $300.00, I POLITELY said "okay well I'm going to call another store and see if they would be interested and what they would offer." Who wouldn't want to get the most bang for their buck? Plus, like I said, I'm new to this so definitely want more than one opinion. Both ladies got so aggressive and told me "if I didn't like what they had to say I can leave their store" they told me I was being "disrespectful to them" and that the "cards I have are fake anyway" (which if they were fake why would they offer me $300?) I called VSM Sports Card Outlet in Lancaster and they told me they'd be interested in both boxes if I could come down on Saturday. I went there and the experience was literally A MILLION times better. Now they didn't buy every card I had (some are more in demand than others) but the cards they did buy, I made a lot more than $300.. So please, do your research before coming to SportsAmerica in Mechanicburg. I still have boxes of Hockey, and Footballl cards, know where I will NEVER take them to? You guessed it. SportsAmerica. I'd rather take the 45 minute drive to Lancaster where I was treated like a person and not like an intruder in their store. Terrible store, Terrible people. VSM deserves your business, SportsAmerica deserves to go out...

I've been in an out of the hobby over the last 15 years, and have really gotten back into it over the last few months. I knew about the store from a quick search, but never stopped in until recently and was blown away how awesome this shop is. Amazing selection, beautifully laid out store, and probably the nicest staff I've ever come across when shopping at a card shop. They are so kind, so willing to help, and I truly enjoy looking forward to my visits to come in, chat, and grab some packs or boxes from them. Would have given this place a 5 before today but had bad experience. Went to purchase a certain basketball card plus other items. The card had a price on the front but the guy turned the card over & it was $10. more on the back. He took the card to the owner and came back saying he had to charge us the higher price!!
