Amazing place, lots of great memories, amazing thick Forrest to enjoy Mother Nature. To all the people complaining “ the roads not paved” honestly paving the road would ruin the place in my opinion. I for one go there to get away and a paved road would make it feel like just another place and take away from that romote , bonded with nature feeling. Mostest beautiful place in Sioux City for me you're very near the tri-state you can look over into Nebraska South Dakota and you're standing in Iowa up on the beautiful bluff and you can see you and see long long ways it's also where the Missouri has the big shoe River run into her the mouth of the Big Sioux. Many years ago, they had to move the monument. It's weight caused the side of the hill to sheer off, leaving the monument dangerously close to the edge. The neighborhood kids had a wonderful week jumping off the cliff and sliding down 150 feet of freshly exposed soft loess dirt. This park is the centerpiece of many of my happiest childhood memories and I hope that many more children take away wonderful memories from this...
