Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Sioux City

I love Fareway...but this evening I had my first ever unpleasant experience with a manager over an item they have for sale, in the ad, but not in the store. I wanted to replace the family size with 2 of the smaller pkgs (weight is the same), price matched up perfectly, but he gave me a hard time over it. This is not the first time they were out of these but when they were out of them before, the other manager was very kind and pleasant about matching up since they were out of them for well over a week. I have nothing bad to say about Fareway though. Great prices. Very friendly & courteous employees, store is always clean and my favorite part is the small family like appeal. Hate the bigger box stores. Ill go if I ABSOLUTELY have to, but only then. I also like that Fareway is off on Sundays. May not be the true Sabbath but its more than 99.8% of other stores do. ;) If you've never been to a Fareway, stop by...they never disappoint!...

Day crew is unpleasant and keeps ruining my produce and bread. They sold me bad chicken on Wednesday. I’ve never had problems like this at a Fareway. I never thought I’d have to avoid the produce and meat section at a Fareway (consistently the best all over Iowa), but I can’t keep paying for inedible food. Evening crew is much more friendly, day crew is super slow. One courtesy guy just wandered around the parking lot while I loaded up the car. He didn’t say a word, just walked silently behind me as I punched the cart out. Very bizarre and disappointing, especially since I worked at a fareway for years. Something’s off at this location

Edit: the sold me bad meat again. Apparently sales in the meat department here are only for spoiled meat. Last time it was chicken breasts, this time it was New York strips. I will be...

I like fareway over Walmart half the time because it's way less busy, crowded, easier parking, quicker shopping, same or better quality products, the place is always clean, the employees are so nice and helpful and don't look at everyone like they are trying to get over on the store. They work for the people and the restroom which I've only used twice both times was immaculate. The only downside and reason for me not giving five stars is the prices of the products. Quite a few things I buy regularly at Hy-Vee or Walmart are more expensive here. But I'd almost say it's worth it for the warmth and quality of service. This is just my opinion, I urge you to make your own, live long...
