Working in this kitchen was one of the most disheartening and dehumanizing experiences of my career. During my interview, the owner promised me $18 per hour “after some time.” Naturally, I expected that commitment to be honored. Months later, I was told, “they never said that.” Integrity is not a priority here.
Then there was the issue of hours. I was offered 40 hours a week, but the reality? On average, I barely scraped together 29.5 hours, and some weeks I was lucky if I even hit 20. The discrepancy between what was promised and what was delivered was a consistent theme. If only broken promises were edible, this place might have had something decent on the menu beside the quesadilla.
Speaking of the kitchen: it’s a disaster. A health hazard in every conceivable way, and I’m genuinely shocked any health inspector could walk through those doors and allow this place to remain standing upright. I tried my best to clean it, but when the owner refuses due to them needing money for a third home. The kitchen remained filthy, the conditions unsanitary. And my integrity as a cook was shattered.
As for the food, brace yourselves. Fried chicken is kept day after day, fried and re-fried upon order. Moldy Parmesan cheese is left out for months at room temperature, and I was told by the owner that this was perfectly fine—even when it was clearly growing mold. I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. I guess my Serv Safe class was worthless after all.
Food safety? Barely an afterthought here. If you have any food allergies, well, good luck. The kitchen’s approach to cross-contamination and allergy awareness is best described as “flip a coin and hope.” Food made me sick twice and my family sick once.
The kitchen manager? A miserable individual who found joy in nitpicking the way I stood rather than addressing the glaring issues in her kitchen. I’ve never encountered a more bitter, small-minded person in my life.
The sole saving grace of this establishment is the waitstaff and bartenders. They’re friendly, attentive, and somehow maintain a level of professionalism despite the train wreck happening behind the scenes. They remember everyone’s name and genuinely care about the customers. Unfortunately, they’re the only ones who do.
Do yourself a favor—don’t waste your time or money here. It’s certainly not worth the time it took me to write...
Read moreVery outdated place to go. Shoes are extremely worn out and gross. The seats near us had blood on them and the place just opened so they clearly never get cleaned. Ordered a pizza and soda while bowling and we got the soda. Our pizza that we ordered got served to other guests that ordered and came in after us. Never offered us to make a new one and refund us. We ended up going up and telling them that we didn't want another pizza and we wanted a refund since our game was over anyways. The staff was extremely slow and acted like they had no idea what they were doing. We stood around in a line waiting to pay while one of the workers stood around and drank soda. We will never come back to this place, such a horrible experience with terrible staff. Also with having multiple lanes open (10 or more) and having a party of kids stuck beside us that were trying to steal our bowling balls and bowl in our lane was not enjoyable. Not recommended to anyone unless you want to...
