Mike's Repair Shop — Local services in Sloan

My son was on his first major road trip with a friend a few days ago. The boys were forced to stop when they "heard a terrible noise and stopped only to see oil pouring from under the car". If I had panicked and called my insurance company for a tow I'm sure they would have complied without telling me there was a repair shop near the boys. Thanks to the internet I was able to discover that fact on my own, I called Mike's Repair and John realized the boys luckily were quite close to them. They found that my break caliper had lost a bolt and that was the "terrible noise" the boys had heard, said that the caliper itself was somehow still fine, ordered the bolt along with an additional lug nut that was NOT meant for my car (my break repair shop in my town never mentioned it) and had the boys back on the road in an hour or so. John was also able to educate the boys on the difference between leaking oil... and air conditioning condensate😆😆! My biggest point is.. I was absent and yet responsible, the boys were not mechanically inclined and it was getting late in the afternoon with miles to go before they arrived at their destination. Mike's Repair had me at a complete disadvantage and could have told me any number of things which I couldn't disprove from a distance..but they behaved honorably and directly, only repaired what was truly broken and sent my son on his way. Quality auto repair and towing at reasonable prices. I had car trouble passing through on interstate and I made it to Kum N Go in town where my vehicle died around noon. It took about two hours to come tow me. They told me on the phone they'd come out when a bay opened up. It was determined to be bad alternator and they did get it fixed same day around 6pm. Their communication with customer is very poor. One o'clock in the morning on I-29 miles from anywhere, I got a chunk of a deer antler in a tire. 10 minutes after that, I discovered my doughnut spare was flat. When's the last time you checked the pressure in yours? After many frantic calls, I learned I was only 6 miles from Sloan. I got in touch of Mike's Repair at 8am. While everyone else wanted to send a fleet truck or a flatbed for a million dollars, this guy brings me out a portable air-tank to pump up the doughnut and I follow him to his shop.
