Dollar General Market — Local services in Slocomb

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD! I quit going to this store a few years back because management sucked and almost EVERYTHING they put on “sale” was an ERROR when you got to the register. Today I decided to give it a go again using my digital coupon shopping. I had JUST had a VERY PLEASANT visit at the regular dollar general in Slocomb with my daughter’s digital coupons but because I needed fresh produce I tried the market for my coupons! BIGGEST MISTAKE! Only 3 of my coupons came off. He even had to scan a paper coupon because my $5 off $25 didn’t come off. As he was ringing I asked if it shows coupons because everything I gave him first had coupons. He said let me total first. He totaled and said yes I finished and it was over $20 more than it should have been so I went back and he got a manager! She came up mean mugging and asked me to see the receipt. I showed her in my app the things that did not come off. She got loud so I said it’s ok just refund the items. I said so each store is different. She said no I was trying to explain. I said I just got the same stuff with my daughter and it was over $20 less and coupons all came off. She shrugged and refunded my money. I guess when the first crew that started when the store opened quit the devil came in cause nothing is right most attitudes SUCK! Been shopping at this store for nearly 2 years and I have to say I’ve enjoyed my trips more in the last few weeks than I have sense I moved to Slocomb. I haven’t much cared for any of the employees there except for the little girl that works in produce until recently! Register one... her name speaks for itself! Sunshine!!! It is such a joy to see a smile and personality like hers especially during a time like we are living in. Even if her line is long and no back up comes when she calls she is still smiling, laughing and keeping the mood light with the customers! Unlike the young girl with glasses that seems to always sit in the office because given the last few times I’ve been there and has requested help at 4 customers she’ll come out when there is 5 or more of us in line. This store would be perfect if management would get more people in there with good work ethics and personalities! Hold tight to that sweet girl sunshine on register 1 she’s a blessing to many of us that shop regularly especially night shift nurses like me that are plum exhausted when shopping for our family’s groceries.. she makes a difference in a positive...

I love the Dollar General Market. There are just enough grocery items in the store so that you won't have to make 2 stops. You'll still be able to get those office supplies or shoes and socks along with whatever you needed from the grocery side of the store. Everything that you will find in a regular Dollar General along with the items you need in a hurry from the grocery store. Good selection of frozen and fresh foods. Plenty of canned and packaged items to choose from. Parking is plentiful and free. A little out of the way but kills two birds with one stone. This is the only Dollar General Market I've been in so I don't know if there are bigger locations elsewhere or if this is the norm. But more than likely you will find what you...
