When I moved back to San Diego I immediately was on the lookout for the ‘best’ colorist for my fine, colored blonde hair that I invest a lot of time and money into. I initially began going to a salon that was recommended from a friend and ultimately found myself in a hair catastrophe. My sensitive hair was completely damaged, breaking off, green and dull in color and the overall experience was a nightmare. So I took matters in my own hands, did my research online and through Yelp reviews ended up finding Studio Savvy and Deena Von Yokes! Let me just start by saying Deena and Studio Savvy is a godsend! In one visit she began undoing all the damage and color-corrected my green/grayish tinted, dull, lifeless hair. She is literally a master at what she does and I highly recommend her and Studio Savvy! I have been coming to Studio Savvy and Deena approximately every 8 weeks for a almost 2 years now and my hair is better than it has ever been. It is the perfect ‘California Blonde’, long, soft, shiny, and overall in the best shape and health it has ever been! I couldn’t be happier because we all know that when the hair looks good you feel good. And beyond all that, Deena is passionate about her salon, what she does, her staff and it shows. I enjoy coming to the salon to visit with the staff - it is a comfortable, serene, refreshing environment that’s just been remodeled as well. Referred for gels and a manicure, my manicurist Rose was on the phone to her friends or talking with everyone around her about her personal life. She was so busy talking about some guy that she didn't seem to know I was in her chair. I don't treat myself often to a mani/pedi so I was really disappointed and felt like I was interfering in Ms. Rose's social hour. I was hoping to have some relaxation and be pampered. I felt like Rose was doing me a favor by taking up her valuable time and paying her for a "nothing special" mani/pedi.
