As you roll your bike in to the starting lane - whether it’s for the first time ever or the thousandth time in years, you know you’re about to experience the thrill of a lifetime. A thrill that no other sport can provide. As you scope out the track one last time before setting up to start, you feel that rush. Soon as the starting gate slams down, the next 30 to 40 seconds is like a wild dirt roller coaster that you are in complete control of. From the two-year old learning to balance on the Strider pushbike, to the expert athlete flying over the obstacles with the greatest of ease, to the seasoned rider who still digs the rush of the ride, every track has something fun for every level of rider. And that’s the really great thing about going to the BMX track; big or small, novice or expert, you ride at your own speed. While in football, basketball, baseball or soccer - every field of play will always be identical. Not so in this action sport. While every course has a starting gate and a finish line, that’s where the similarity begins and ends. No two tracks are identical. The lengths of tracks will vary as much as the size and arrangement of obstacles. Some are fairly flat while other have faster downhilll sections. Some shorter tracks will be 900 feet long while others can be as long as 1,300 feet. Today’s USA BMX tracks are nothing like the rough and rocky tracks your dad or grandfather rode “back in the day”. This is a hidden jewel in the San Gabriel Valley. A wonderful place for families to take their kids to help them learn how to work hard and improve while staying out of trouble.

BMX is a challenging sport that when embraced, helps to build self-confidence like no other.

Whittier Narrows BMX is run by a wonderful family who has many many years of experience in the sport, come on down on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday evening at 5:30pm, rent a bike, a helmet and don't forget to wear long pants and long sleeves. Once you ride the track, you'll never look back.

My name is Bryan, I am both a long time BMX racer as well as the announcer at the track. I love BMX, I've been in the sport for almost 40 years now.

We are new to BMX racing so we went to Whittier Narrows BMX track to check it out. The dirt track itself is average size. The track was kind of choppy which made for some rough patches for riders to go through. It is located in part of the Whittier Narrows Recreational Park which includes several "parks" for various activities. The parking lot is very small but very well lit which is great since there were quite a few kids there. Their schedule is listed online and includes practices and racing. It was clean and the crowd/staff were kosher. It wasn't the best park to ride in, but is one to check out to get a few laps in if...

I wish this bmx was around when I was a kid I use to have to go to the Foothills of Azusa canyons back in the day.Also This Park is a wonderful place to walk, ride, spend time with family and friends or even buy your self. Also a few more other parks at a distance where you could through a rock at. Also nice looking women. Great place to get in shape and enjoy God's beautiful...
