Fox View Grocery & Liquor — Local services in South Elgin

I stopped in to use the restroom after driving for my job on and off for five hours. There was no one manning the register when I came in, and the bathroom door was left ajar so I assumed that it was a public restroom. When I exited, the owner started insulting me and trying to talk down to me for going to the bathroom, that is wasn't a public bathroom and how would I feel if someone entered my house and went to the bathroom.

This is despite the restroom being A.) In a store, not a house. B.) No sign saying that they had no public restrooms. C.) No one manning the floor to control that.

Overall, the entire store is dirty, the bathroom is disgusting and the person working...

Long story short. I gave the clerk a 20 for a 5$ and some change total. He hands me 4$. I said very nicely that I had given him a 20$. He decided to tell me i only gave him a 10 and refused to give me my money. I returned the items and he hands me a 10$. I told him if he doesn't want to give me all my money I'll call the police. He laughed and said go ahead. I did. I got my money back. He handed the other 10 to the cop couldn't even hand it to me . Then wanted to laugh as I walked out. Like I was wrong. Well to bad I know what's in my wallet at all times. So if you pay cash put some type of mark on it before using it here! Been going here for years. Never...

Small store that offers many different cold sodas. Small ice cream freezer. An aisle of candy. Frozen pizza and milk is available. Atm machine is available. Clean store and friendly employees. Only four stars because their prices are high. Sorry, I don't know about their liquor...
