I’ve been coming to superbest for a few years and have seen the decline.. I don’t want to believe it’s bc I’m black but after today, I’m convinced that’s the only reason.. somehow I keep buying items that have mold. I’m super selective while I’m in the store and try to stick to only buying meat but sometimes I can only find ingredients that are predominantly at international markets. When I take the moldy items back, I’m always met with pushback whether I have a receipt or not. Although the bakery in the back isn’t managed by superbest, they conduct themselves the same (towards black people/people who don’t speak español). Not only was I met with attitude from the cashier the day before; when I tried to exchange the moldy item, the “owner” told me there are cameras watching me. Sat my “refund” on the counter and started helping the customer behind me. No remorse, apology, nothing. It saddens me that there are still people like this in this world. This review probably won’t do much to the business, but if I were you, I’d shop elsewhere. They don’t care about your food.

It was a horrible experience because I know very well that even the bank itself would have taking it. She definitely made this shopping trip a miserable one. When she realized that I was taken pictures she tried to do the walk of shame but I told her too late and that I was going to share her and the experience. I will never shop here again or recommend them to anyone. In regard to meats there is a wonderful market in laurel called Al-Madina Halal. The meat is affordable and fresh. Most importantly the people are extremely kind

I went to get 3 pompano fishes, I told the #6 head-on. So, was looking them waiting around for my bags after they cleaned it. They were looking so suspicious, and something told to measure and weigh the fishes. Low and behold, they have stolen a slice of each fish. I will not have them cut my fish anymore. Dear Super Best Market Team,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Andrea Jackson, and I recently had an unfortunate experience at your store today, November 28, 2023, around 3:18 PM. As a new customer, I was taken aback by the customer service interaction I encountered.

Upon entering the store, I approached the gentleman in the customer service area to inquire about the location of olive oil. Regrettably, despite my polite approach, the individual seemed disinterested and unresponsive. When I asked for clarification, his response was brief and delivered without acknowledgment, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and dismissed.

Subsequently, when attempting to address another concern with the same individual and seeking assistance by asking for the manager, I was met with continued disregard until the same gentleman indicated that the manager was outside. The lack of acknowledgment and the disrespectful attitude displayed during this interaction was deeply disappointing.

Moreover, the subsequent information I received from a staff member outside, who pointed out the same individual as the manager, added to my dismay. I am deeply troubled by the possibility of discriminatory behavior based on race, considering I am a Black woman and the individual in question may have displayed a bias against people of color.

I value the diversity and inclusivity of establishments I support, and it is disheartening to perceive such behavior in a place I hoped to frequent. I believe that fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all customers, regardless of their background, is crucial for any business.

I wanted to bring this incident to your attention as I believe it's essential for management to be aware of interactions that may negatively impact the shopping experience for customers. I hope that necessary measures will be taken to address this issue and ensure that all customers feel valued and respected when visiting your store.

The customer service at this place is horrible. The people working there, especially those working on the meat and fish session don’t have any respect for customers. I was at the store yesterday July 12 2019 at 7:30 PM to buy fish. There was a line when I got there. When the line finally got to me I told the guy taking order that I wanted 3 live Tilapia. I saw him pick up the fish from the tank; he then priced them out and asked me how I wanted them clean. I chose number # 1 from the list. At that point I then looked at my watch because there was another sign that stated 9AM to 8:35PM. Luckily for me it was 7:40PM, there is still plenty of time. Unfortunately for me I never receive my order. I spent 1 full HOUR there waiting for the fish and asking for my order every time. There were 3 guys cleaning the fish in the back. Finally, by 8:30 PM here comes an Asian gentleman with glasses. He appeared to be the manager or the owner. I told him that I’ve been waiting for hour for my order and if he tells me what is going on. He checked the back and started asking some very stupid questions like: “when did you place the order, what kind of fish you getting, how many...” I was like, WHAT???? My order was nowhere to be found. I was so offend that I lost words. These people are either plain stupid and ignorant or totally unprofessional or both. Poor poor poor customer service. I repeat POOR! I shop here frequently at least every other day. However today marks my LAST visit. I picked up two cans of albacore tuna. Not regular size cans, the were a little smaller. Ticket price was $1.19. When I got to the register they scanned for $2.60. When I spoke up she stated she needed to go look. I followed her to show here where. When we got there she stated they were in the wrong place and i have to pay $2.60. I told her I should get them for $1.19. She said No and pulled the price tag off right in my face! We proceeded to the register. I paid for the other items. I was not going to say anything but that just didnt sit well with me. I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I asked her name and she said Melissa. Her tone was rude, her face was rude and she had way too much make-up which threw me off. As I walked out the door. I asked the Korean men who watch the cameras if the manager was available. He said no and asked what I need. I then went on to explain my case. He apologize and even stated the staff member frequently make mistakes. He said he understood my position because other stores would have sold me the item at the ticketed price. But this store doesnt honor that . I proceeded to exit. Oh I didnt buy the tuna just my other its. But I wont be shopping there gotta find a new store to patronize every...
