The most magical day ever. My daughter fell in love with Sugar the pony. She got to brush and put bows in Sugar’s hair, then lead her out to the pasture. Then each of our five child guests got to take about three rides each, that ended in trotting! Then we went back up to the barn and had cupcakes and pizza. Mary had lots of other stuff there for us, plates and cups, soda, and spare sunscreen and bug spray, on top of lovely decorations, coloring sheets, and lots of seating. After that, Mary brought out some friendly ducks for the kids to meet, one that liked belly rubs! Sugar’s owner Mary said Sugar missed all the parties over lockdown, spending her days staring out at the road waiting for the kids, and we could feel the loving care the ponies receive, and how happy they are and how much they enjoy their special visits from kids.

Before covid, we had lots of big group parties, which were lots of fun but pretty chaotic. This pony party was the best one yet, and a delight for children and adults. We did a pony session today for our daughter’s birthday, and both our daughter and son had an amazing time. We loved how the kids were taught things about horses as they helped get Sugar the pony ready for the ride. They loved brushing her and helping with the saddle. We also got introduced to some of the ducks after which was an unexpected but welcome surprise. Thanks for a wonderful day!
