This area has limited accessibility by car (purple arrows). The yellow area and around the pond have some paved pathways to walk up to. The buffalo could be located anywhere inside the red area. If they're not visible near the purple arrows, then they could be elsewhere in the enclosure. If you can't see them near the yellow enclosure, take the road to the left and drive to the back purple arrows. If you still don't see them, you could try walking around the double fence, which is noted here by the red line. They are almost always visible somewhere within the double fence (outer red line). If you cannot see the buffalo, ask a hiker or mountain biker. This person might have seen where they are in the enclosure. Other wildlife can be seen near the yellow circle: peacock and peahen, ducks, geese (seasonal), wild turkeys, and turtles. There are signs that say to not feed the waterfowl. This is really helpful so they don't try to attack people. (Pictures show different locations in the enclosure. One is from the upper line. About 200 or 300 feet in from the road...
Read moreI have been coming here for years, as a kid myself, and now with my son. It's not a huge place or anything, but is a really cool thing to do that costs nothing. There are usually a ton of ducks, geese and turtles in and around the pond here. Often enough there will be some turkey scattered about and the occasion deer or two. They have peacocks in a fenced in space as well as buffalo in a separate space. Generally, the buffalo are hanging out in an area you can't get to, but if you're lucky you'll see the heard hanging around. It's a very nice place to go and is a wholesome activity to do if you're in the area...

Discovered on a weekend drive, we were amazed at this Game Preserve we happened upon.
Fountains, ducks, geese and turtles are a welcome greet upon parking in the lot. So tranquil to just sit and think. Up the hill, you come upon 2 different kinds of peacocks 🦚 If you are lucky, you may spot some buffalo. We didn’t, but I bet you would at feeding time! A nice stop and definitely worth walking around. A great place for kids!
