I was Dr. Newman’s patient for years but moved away after college. Returning after 12 years, I was disappointed. Before going in, I confirmed I would be paying a $150 cash payment as I have MediShare and turn in my receipts. However right before my appointment the front desk processed my MediShare card, implied that I actually had coverage, and charged a copay. I was billed in total $239 instead of $150, as they weren’t in-network. It took two days to reach billing to resolve this. When I finally reached someone in their billing department they told me to just cash pay next time. You know, like I had originally planned to do until the front desk told me to do otherwise. I told them that this was wrong and they should fix it. I offered to pay any outstanding amount up to the $150 that I was originally quoted. They refused and demanded I pay the full amount. I did. Apparently, I should have known better than to listen or trust in the competence of the front desk attendant. The saddest part of all of this is that I didn't even get to see Dr. Newman even though I specifically called to make an appointment with her. Instead I was seen by a Nurse Practitioner. Needless to say, I am looking for a new doctor as her staff are unprofessional, never answer the phones or return voicemails and are absolutely terrible to deal...

I went in Dr. Newman office for a scheduled EKG! Waited for 1 hr 30 min. She comes in room not apologizing for me waiting that long. Stated telling me the blood pressure medicine she prescribed for is working…she was pleased. However she wanted to prescribe another medication for same thing. I declined. That’s when Dr Newman actually told me that I need to find another doctor. I just don’t let doctors push meds on me. So incredibly disappointed with this office today. I called on October 8th about coming in on Saturday October 9th to get a pre employment physical. I was told that if I got to the office before 9 am on Saturday I could be seen as a walk-in. I arrived at 8:45 . I was told that I was too late and they were not seeing walk ins at that point.
