Midsouth Medicine — Local services in Southaven

I recently visited midsouth medicine after i was told they could help me with my condition. After filling out the paperwork i was told they could not and would not help me. I went to the emergency room to get some help immediately and ask for help finding a proper physician. While i was in the emergency room mid south medicine contacted me and told me it was a misunderstanding and could i please come back they would be happy to have me as a patient. I returned a couple days later with my wife driving because I was unable to drive at the time. I was left unattended for more than an hour in an examination room. My wife became frustrated and went out to the reception area and ask what was going on they told her they shredded the original paperwork and that we had to redo all of the paperwork that was already submitted. The data they were asking for was given to mid south medicine when they called me in the emergency room and it was recorded in their system yet they continued to leave me sit in an exam room. Eventually we filled out the paperwork and i was seeing by the nurse practitioner and everything seemed ok i scheduled a follow up appointment and i thought everything was taken care of. Today i received a registered letter from midsouth medicine telling me that neither myself nor my wife were not welcome and they would no longer treat me because of the disturbance my wife made in the waiting area. I guess there is a life lesson in this story and that is if you're not satisfied just put up with it or your libel to be kicked while you're down. I have forty years business experience and usually when a customer is upset you do what you can to make it right clearly it doesn't work the same in some of the medical field. My recommendation is that this practice has a real problem caring for their clients and organizing paperwork. Unless you have no other choice avoid this provider. Dr. Newman has been my PCP for years. I followed my mom there and my adult children followed me. If you happen to see Dr. Newman, you are in good hands. The other providers do not know what they are doing and rarely listen. For two months, I was given steroids, creams and on my first visit nothing at all for what appeared to be shingles, I was in terrible pain. I visited 3 times. The 2nd visit, the nurse was argumentative because she thought I refused steroids during the 1st visit. They were never offered! I finally visited a dermatologist. My relative is on 3 blood pressure medications to see what is going to work! The 3-4 ladies that sit at the front are rude and do not schedule other visits as written on the release papers. I am often skipped when being called back! That's with an appt. The imaging clinics in the area are all talking about this office. They are suppose to fax documents. Upon arrival at the imaging clinic, the documents are not there. The clinic asked about the office that were sending the documents and the comment was "that figures"! Dr. Newman is great, when you luck up to see her. I was told by the front desk that I couldn't make an appointment directly with her. Time to find...

The front office is very VERY disorganized. They told me to come in for an emergency appointment yet made me wait 2 1/2 hours to be seen. They changed their story saying I was a "walk in". They ended up avoiding my problem and sending me to the ER. I went to the ER. I tried to fax over the paperwork from The ER. The office, same nurse, told on me to the doctor claiming lies. I asked to speak to the office manager so I could ask her if the fax machine was working because I had been trying for 15 minutes to fax something. I was constantly put on hold. They knew they were trying to get me upset. I finally got a call back from the doctor who said that I was too complicated for them to help. This is how they treat their patients. If they can't help you and they claim on their website they can help all types of chronic illnesses....they say they can't help me. I told them that was a sorry way to treat their patients.
