Value World Thrift — Local services in Southfield

The manager today March 18th 2021 is aggressive. She spoke over the intercom countless times urging customers to get in line or she will refuse to sell merchandise to the customer as she sees fit. This location also had other staff scouring the ilses repeating the message as if the intercom wasn't threatening enough. The staff here started these acts around 6:15pm, but this location closes at 7pm. Fair warning I've decided to research this treatment towards individuals in need of hospitality during a time their income doesn't permit a better source for shopping. This type of treatment requires action from the customers they are mistreating. These customers are the reason this staff is employed and they should be treated as such. It is understandable that a customer should abide by the rules of the hour, but the response should not be aggression. Again it was only 6:15pm when they started. I've been to the other Value World locations repeatedly throughout the years and not gonna lie, there's just something about this location that sets it apart from the others. The cleanliness, layout of the store and attentiveness by the staff are 3 key factors. The staff here is locked in. One of the managers, Brooke- definitely stands out. Great customer service and professionalism in my opinion. But the staff as a whole are the ones who make the store as great as it is- and they should all know that they're doing a fantastic job. Special shout out to the media section-always on point. You can tell someone takes pride in sorting and organizing that section. Customers will come tear it up. It’s difficult to find the positive of this thrift store. I love thrifting and really wish I could give this store a higher rating. First of all, check out is unbearably slow and there is absolutely zero sense of urgency. In fact, it seems like it is purposely slow for some reason almost every time I go. I have tried to give this thrift store a chance for the occasional gem that you stumble upon but after this last trip, it is no longer worth the effort of the trip. It is an absolute mess in several sections and more disorganized than ever. I wish I could rate this higher but there is almost nothing good about this store anymore.
