Probably a great school if your child does well with sitting perfectly still and doesn't talk much, however if your child has energy and enjoys socializing, it will not be a good fit. My son was asked to stop attending halfway through the school year. When we first went to the school to register (almost a year in advance), my son was 2, she had barely met us and was recommending to hold him back from kindergarten simply due to him having an August birthday. Throughout the school year, she often provided feedback of what we (the parents) needed to work on with our child. I can recall only one time that the feedback was school-related. Some examples of the feedback were not paying attention, touching his feet when they sit on the rug, talking to his friends, playing with one toy for a while before moving on to a different toy, putting his socks on by himself, not taking his socks off, etc. I practiced these things with my son at home and reminded him of the expectations each day before he walked into the house. I even talked to my son's pediatrician who said that his behavior is not concerning at all and should be expected at his age (3) and that if these things are strictly expected of him at school, he is going to learn to hate school from a young age. My son was never violent or destructive, just bounced around a lot and struggled to focus. Never once did she ask what she as the teacher could do or what might help manage his energy or even sat us down for a parent/teacher conference to discuss the situation. I finally got to a point where I took it upon myself to offer her solutions that we use to help him sit still and pay attention (because he can if approached the right way and with realistic expectations). She quickly dismissed these recommendations saying she had already tried them and then dismissed him from the school...
Read moreI chose Whisper Creek preschool because of Ms. Terri's extensive experience in education and the overall feeling of positivity and fun she promotes in her classroom. I have been surprised at how much my daughter has learned, and how much she looks forward to going to preschool! I shadowed one of the classes to get a feel for their routine and how Ms. Terri handled discipline and was so impressed. I sometimes feel I am saying NO a thousand times a day but I didn't hear her say it once. She used positive reinforcement and redirection and the kids stayed completely in line. I'm glad to have such a patient teacher for my daughter who seems to truly love...
Read moreMiss Terri's Whisper Creek Pre School is the ultimate pre school experience. My Son attended for 2 years and with Miss Terri's help and patience, has worked through some social issues that we hadn't realized were issues. He has made so much progress in these last 2 years. He is more than ready for Kindergarten. He is always singing songs at home that he's learned from school. He knows how to write his first and last name. It really is miraculous what he's learned so far. And the best part is that he's had a blast doing it. He loves Miss Terri! She is definitely a master...
