Danny arrived within the specified time frame and was personable and thorough, and did his job in a timely manner. There were, however, a few things we'd like to mention: We wish he had worn booties over his shoes and a mask over his face, and the bottom of his ladder left dirt clumps on our carpet (easily cleaned).
UPDATE: In January, 2024, our heater started acting up, only working intermittently, and subsequently we had a new heater installed. All employees were courteous, hard-working, and respectful of our home.
On January 8 service techs Dwayne and Christopher (apprentice) arrived on time, inspected our heater and recommended replacing it. Dwayne showed us several options, including price and warranty information. After we made our choice, we paid a deposit and scheduled the heater installation for Jan 10. Dwayne was kind enough to return later with an electric heater we could use in the meantime.
On January 10, installers Todd and Brandon (apprentice) arrived at about 10:30 a.m., a half-hour later than the quoted arrival time of 8 – 10 to install our new heater, which had been estimated to take 3 – 5 hours. They ran into some problems and were there until about 7:30 p.m. as the new heater did not work. They exchanged the mother board, contacted other service techs at All Hours Air for advice, and also contacted tech support from Daikin, the heater’s manufacturer, to no avail. Their next attempt to fix it would be to exchange another part (something to do with the thermostat and elevation), which they would do the next day after receiving the part. They (and two additional apprentices) arrived the next day, exchanged the part, and the heater still did not work. After several hours and phone calls, they said a service tech would come the next day for further evaluation. They also brought an additional electric heater for us to use (which didn’t work, as did the first electric heater the next morning – luckily we had a few of our own and a gas fireplace with a blower).
On January 12, Dwayne arrived to change the mother board again. After inspecting the newly-installed heater, he realized the problem was not with the mother board but something to do with the configuration of the heater installation. He was able to fix the heater in a fairly short time and we had heat once again.
Special kudos to Dwayne for his excellent investigative skills and resolution. I don’t fault Todd for not being able to make the heater work as he is an installer, not a service technician, and the skill sets are different. He tried very hard to find a solution by asking advice of his co-workers and tech support.
I’d recommend All Hours Air for HVAC services.
UPDATE: In July 2025, we had another enjoyable experience with Dwayne from All Hours Air. We had recently purchased a home and in addition to the regular fall service check of our furnace, we had a few other HVAC items that needed attention. As usual, Dwayne arrived on time and not only provided excellent service but also gave us some advice on things we did not need and a non-HVAC question. If you need anything done with your HVAC system, ask for Dwayne at...
Read moreI had a terrible experience with All Hours Air. We called them out for help because one of our furnaces would only run for about 3 1/2 minutes or so and then it would shut itself off,
After diagnosing the issue, they told us the furnace was too old (20-25 years) to fix and suggested we replace it instead of attempting any kind of repairs. I was shocked they didn’t even try to fix it, especially since I found it was a easy repair. We decided to hold off on their advice and think things through
The report they left us mentioned a bad high limit switch, so I decided to do some research on YouTube to find out how to test high limit switches. After testing all five high limit switches on the unit, I found they were all fine and it only took me about 15 minutes to do. Then, I watched some more videos and discovered the pressure switch could be the issue. Ended up jumping the pressure switch wires using a paper clip and I got the furnace to run and stay on until the unit got up to temperature. Once this was found I went to Appliance Parts Company/PAC’s and bought a $37 pressure switch, returned and installed it and now the furnace is working perfectly.
I’m extremely disappointed that All Hours Heating Air didn’t even attempt to fix the problem, opting to recommend an expensive replacement instead. Everything I read on the Internet, said the only time you should need to replace your furnace would be if you have a cracked heat exchanger. Kind of feels like the technician didn’t know how to troubleshoot properly and just wanted to push for a new furnace so he could get a higher commission on the job.. We will never call them again, nor would we ever recommend them to anyone. It’s the same story with Sierra Air, which is why we won’t be using them either. It’s frustrating to deal with companies that don’t seem interested in actually fixing issues.
Note: Our family owns 117 rental doors in town and All Hours Air missed out on having a good customer and they will never get our money ever again. $60...
Read moreUpdated review:
As mentioned below, we had our furnace serviced by All Hours Air in September 2022. We spent approximately $1300 replacing the circuit board. Mike the technician was great and had encouraged us to just replace the furnace, but we unwisely chose the middle-priced repair option. Mike told us he couldn’t guarantee that the new circuit board would permanently fix the problem since it was an old furnace. So, several months later, when the furnace went out completely, I called All Hours Air again and Nick was our service advisor this time. He was awesome too. We decided to replace our furnace this time and Nick gave us a full credit for the previous repair. He did not have to do that, and we really appreciated it. Brandon and Cesar were our technicians and they were both clean and nice and and they did a very professional installation. They hauled away the old furnace, cleaned up the area and ensured everything was working properly before they left. Our new furnace has been working like a champ ever since and with all the snow we’ve had this winter we have been very warm and grateful. I highly recommend All Hours Air.
Prior review:
Mike was our technician and he was great. He diagnosed the problem with our furnace right away and gave us three different options for repair. After he completed the furnace repair, at a very fair rate, he also ensured our A/C was working before he left. He was friendly, clean, on time and professional, and I especially liked that it was flat rate, and not “shop...
