HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I cannot say enough good things about Hector and his crew. We decided to make our wedding rehearsal celebration just like a typical San Diego weekend day for us, fish tacos and craft beer! We looked around at the typical restaurants that cater and they would only provide pre-made taco platter. (While I am sure they are excellent, it wasn't what we were looking for). This is when we found Hector and his crew at Casanovas Fish Tacos. We wanted to test him out and we met up with Hector at a pop-up restaurant raising money for the LGBT community. So we stopped by and met Hector, we treated us to some amazing tacos, we had 2 tacos each, and we were stuffed. These are not small street taco size, these are very nice sized with fish or shrimp as the star, not a ton of cabbage. The salsa and creme sauces worked so well together! All of this happened right in front of us, and two mins later we were splitting a third taco because despite being full we could not say no. We instantly knew that this was what we were looking for! Fresh ingredients, prepared on-site, really authentic flavors, a great representation of Baja style fish tacos! We confirmed our spot with a handshake, Hector then followed up regularly to confirm if we had any dietary restrictions, guest count and final menu. He met us day of the event ( he was early!) and set up very quickly. After dodging a few rain showers we started serving our guest, baja fish tacos, chipotle fish tacos, marinated ancho chill beef tacos, grilled eggplant , and fresh shrimp ceviche. Everyone raved about how cool it was, most of our guests were from out of town so fresh baja style fish tacos were a fairly novel idea. Hector and his team ABSOLUTELY KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!
