Pho Minh & Grill — Restaurant in California

First time at this restaurant. I’m not the one to typically get Phó for carry out. Phó tastes so much better when it’s served hot right from the kitchen. But last night, I didn’t have time to sit down for my Phó, so I decided to get carry out. Reviews for this place were good, I live in East County, so proximity to getting the food and making it home in time for it to still be warm was crucial. So here it goes:

•Location is great for those in East County, easy to get to off the 94 •Atmosphere is just like it should be, even with an art piece of horses running in the wild. Love those classic 80s art pieces. •The Phó was delicious, great balance of clear broth with rich flavor, it had all the right notes for taste. Also generous portion of meat.

All in all, will definitely be back for more. And as always, support your local small businesses! The small people make the world...

Best grilled beef banh mi in San Diego!!!!!!!!! At every other Vietnamese food place I've been to they are always stingy with the meat, replace cuts of beef with meatball meat or some kind of groud beef patty, or the beef is terribly seasoned and marinated to the point it tastes like baloney. The last place I went to eat banh mi (a spot next to the awesome Pho Ca Dao in El Cajon Blvd) the meat was tougher and drier than beef jerky. Here at Pho Mihn & Grill the banh mi is spot on; a generous stack of tender grilled beef bursting with flavor inside a toasty, buttery baguette. Also, Pho Mihn & Grill is the only place where I was offered nuoc cham instead of a bottle of fish sauce when I inquired about extra dipping sauce. And the pho is also awesome. Love u Pho...

I'd give this restaurant a 4.5, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

Nevertheless, their Pho is great. It's got excellent flavor and seems to be very clean. We've also had their spring rolls and they are very good as well. The wrap is well folded and the roll is well filled with veggies that are fresh.

As for the Pho, again its delicious. I order the rare and lean meats normally and the wife is mainly into chicken soup. As for the meats, they are are tender and have a good meat flavor. For my wife, the restaurant is great as they offer a chicken breast Pho that she absolutely loves.

My only gripes with this spot are the parking lot can be hectic at times and the actual restaurant is a bit dated inside (not a problem for us). Otherwise service is...
