Review of Lynae
I recently had an experience with Lynae for a balayage and a wolf/shag/rough cut, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. Typically, I do not leave reviews, but after reflecting on my visit, I believe it’s important to provide feedback.
Our communication began about a week in advance through Facebook Messenger, where I shared my desired haircut and explained that I wanted a balayage with added blonde highlights to complement my natural hair. Upon my arrival, I was not greeted, even though I had arrived on time. One of the nail technicians had to leave her station to inform Lynae of my presence, which left me feeling somewhat lost as I was not given any direction on where to go.
During my consultation, I felt as though my requests were repeatedly questioned, and there seemed to be an attempt to steer me away from my desired outcome. I ultimately had to persuade her to execute the haircut I envisioned, which was disheartening.
When it came time for the balayage, Lynae confirmed that we would be using blonde and lighter shades towards the ends. However, after applying bleach for 40 minutes—20 minutes on each side—she indicated that she would return shortly to check the lift. Unfortunately, 25 minutes passed without any check-in, causing me concern for the health of my hair. I eventually sought her out to express my worries, and while she assured me that the bleach would be fine for up to 40 minutes, I had already reached that point without any lift check.
Upon her return, my hair was deemed ready for rinsing. Afterward, during the drying process, I requested a rough dry to maintain my natural wave and curl, as I don’t typically use hot tools. Lynae, however, expressed that it was impractical to rough dry and proceeded to comb dry my hair despite my polite request not to. She then introduced the idea of crimping my hair, which I declined again. Instead of respecting my wishes, she became argumentative, insisting that I needed to trust her expertise.
Once I got home and viewed my hair in better lighting, I realized that what I received was not a balayage but rather chunky highlights. Additionally, the texturing of my ends felt excessive, resulting in unevenly layered cuts.
Overall, my experience felt uncomfortable and filled with concern, given Lynae’s hesitations about my requests. I reached out the following morning to express my partial satisfaction with the cut and style, but dissatisfaction with the coloring. Unfortunately, Lynae responded defensively and rudely when I asked for a partial refund or additional blonde to achieve the desired balayage. After an uncomfortable exchange, she eventually issued a refund of $85 from my total payment of $185, plus a $20 tip. While I appreciate the refund, I will need to seek out another stylist to rectify my hair.
For clarity, the only reason I straightened my hair was for the purpose of this review. Additionally, during our conversation at the chair, Lynae mentioned that she did not have much experience and that she was not required to show her work before renting a chair at Blush. I believe there should be a standard in place to ensure that Blush maintains quality work, as indicated by other reviews.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Read moreI was so sadly disappointed by two interactions that I've had with this establishment. They are located in the same building as my doctor and I thought...How convenient! In December, I went in and there were three stylists sitting on the entrance couch. I smiled and I said that they had a beautiful, clean salon. No one acknowledged my comment and no one greeted me. They just looked me up and down. A couple of them were sitting surfing the internet on their iPads. A blonde just stared through me. I asked if they had a business card that I could have. One of stylist said, "What do you want it for?" I explained I would like to schedule a hair appointment. A young girl obliged me and I took the card. I said that I wished their new business luck and I recieved NO RESPONSE! They were so smug and cold! I thought perhaps they don't want males at their salon or I didn't meet their standards. So today, I went in and once again there was a stylist sitting on the couch. There was no greeting and I asked if they took walk-ins. The woman said, No, only appointments. I said you have a nice salon and once again no response or good-bye. For a salon that serves Mogadore, Springfield Twp. and Lakemore, they are acting way too aloof for their clientele! I was sadly disappointed and I shared it with my doctor and his...
