Today I visited Canton Road nursery for the first time. I was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio that moved to Louisiana when I was 14 and lived there till about five years ago. In Louisiana I was an avid gardener and landscaped my yard every year. So when I went in I wasn’t sure what I was even looking for. I had many questions about trees and plants that grow in this part of the country. My daughter and I walked around and looked and they have so many beautiful things and beautiful plants I didn’t even know where to start. A very kind older gentleman approached me with his COVID-19 mascon which I thought was very thoughtful and asked if I needed help and I proceeded to ask him questions about what type of trees I could plant in this area. He said follow me and I’ll put you in touch with the man I can answer your question. He led me to his grandson a very young gentleman who I thought it couldn’t be more than 18 at the most. I was highly highly impressed at how he can answer all my questions about the type of trees I was looking for the type of plants that would attract butterflies and bees and hummingbirds even down to the questions I ask him about the roses that were dying in my yard and what I can do to help them. I know this is a link they review but I was so impressed, of how they made me Feel as a customer, answering every question and so happy to help in anyway. I didn’t purchase much but they made me feel like I bought the whole store. I will be back in the fall and thank you again to the grandfather, the Grandson💕feel as a customer, answering every question and so happy to help in anyway. I didn’t purchase much but they made me feel like I bought the whole store. I will be back in the fall and thank you again to the grandfather, the Grandson💕, and the sweet cashier that rang up my order. I will be back in the fall to buy trees from our yard and in the spring to make my yard beautiful thank you very much...
Read moreWe stopped here because we were having trouble finding flats of geraniums. We get them at Donzells every year, but Donzells doesn't seem to know when they are getting more than 2 colors in. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. They have a good selection of trees, shrubs, annuals, and pereinniels. We quickly found our flats of geraniums. They had a lot of them. They were $5 more a flat than Donzells ($24.99 vs $19.99; geranium flats are always more than normal annual flats). We were okay with this because they are so difficult to find. Checkout was easy and the people were friendly. We will...
Read moreThis is a nice little locally owned garden center that we discovered last year. We have been there several times now and will continue to visit in the future. The carry the unusual soils and fertilizers that I search for ( fox farm ). The prices are comparable to other places I can find it like Amazon. The staff is always courteous and helpful. Prices are as you would expect from a small private grower but so is the quality of plants from what I can tell. If you are in the market for hard to find soils and plant foods you may want to start here if you like to support local...
