Dollar General — Local services in Springfield Township

Terrible experience. Every time. I’ve just found a different location altogether. Staff is rude, and locks the doors prior to closing. I work 14 hour shifts and the only time I have to go is right after work if I have a little time. Stopped in 9:15 to get a couple things (medicine for kid etc) and make a point to ensure I’m long gone prior to closing. Old lady at register kept screaming out minutes remaining which were not accurate. I still was at the register with plenty of time left, cashier snatched my items off the counter and I tried to be pleasant “hi how are you?” And she responded “I’m ready to go home” and never said a single other word. I’m ready to go home too but was conscious enough about my timing that I would not have been inconveniencing them. Still, as I left, prior to ten o clock, they locked the doors. For reference, I had enough time remaining to stop and get gas, and at the drive thru ATM before the clock hit ten o clock.

This store is one of the worst Dollar General I have ever shopped at. The aisles are so packed it's difficult to navigate thru the aisles. The shelves are half empty. Product stacked on the floor but not the shelves. I was there yesterday May 19 2016, and of course they didn't have what I wanted. There was an employee standing looking while I tried to get thru the aisle, but couldn't because of boxes on one side and a pack of toilet paper on the other side on the floor. No offer to help. Some of the cashiers give the impression that they are doing you a favor to wait on you. I only live a mile away, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. Stopped in to get a specific item, that I know they carry. Found one on the shelf, so I asked the counter associate (who happened to be wearing a title that said "Store Manager") if they happened to have more in the back. He was on his phone as I approached, but did set it down. His reply to my question: "We just got a truck in, everything should be on the shelves by Saturday." This was on Thursday. He rang up my items, handed me the bag and receipt, then immediately picked up his phone and resumed texting. It's sad that I'm conditioned to expect this behavior from a younger associate, but that's the world we live in. I'd expect much more professional behavior from an adult,...
