They lost 2 1/2 years of my loyalty and business over a simple issue which could have been resolved in a respectful way. Instead, the biggest fella working there walked up behind me and started accosting me. It started when I called because I believed there was a misunderstanding which resulted in me purchasing the wrong item. I meant to purchase bedding shavings and got pellets, which were loaded in the truck at the dock. Since I didnât notice until later that night, I called them the next day. They said they wouldnât do any kind of exchange, regardless of paying any difference. I could tell the guy who was acting as a go between for the manager was the new guy who checked me out at the register. I didnât want to seem argumentative by trying to clarify the situation to see if they felt differently about the exchange, so I decided to go to the store the next day and address the issue in person. When I got there, I went to the guy who greeted me from the register and said; âI have a disagreement I would like to talk to someone aboutâ. He asked me what it was about (the first step in determining who to refer me to), so I started explaining everything. Soon after I started to explain how I would like to clarify the situation to see if they would change their mind (I would have understood if their answer was still no), I was interrupted by a forceful voice saying; âWe told you over the phone yesterday, we werenât doing an exchange.â As I tried to explain my intentions, I was interrupted with accusations of trying to go behind managementâs back by going to a new employee and attempting to get him to do something he shouldnât. The first words I said in the store were; âI have a disagreement I would like to talk to someone aboutâ. Thatâs not surreptitious in any way. I was only allowed to speak for myself when I spoke over him and told him, he isnât giving me a chance to defend myself and he keeps interrupting me. After I was allowed a few brief words, he continued accosting me, so I tried to tell him I felt he was being aggressive and rude and it wasnât necessary. I should mention, I never raised my voice or used profanity, nor was I aggressive in any way. He wouldnât calm down, so I simply said; âYou have lost my businessâ and I turned and walked away. I never had a problem and some of us had several laughs and conversations together in the 2 1/2 years Iâve been buying my feed and supplies there. I would have accepted a no if they still felt the same way after a polite conversation and clarification of the situation. Thatâs why I didnât bring the pellets inside. Iâm just not sure why they felt it necessary to handle the situation so aggressively. There was no apology or change in attitude when I addressed it either. I also canât understand why they felt it necessary to send their biggest guy to intimidate a small fella who usually walks with a cane and needs assistance with heavy items. I donât always need my cane, but I usually need it on the days I go in there, so itâs quite obvious Iâm not going to be aggressive. Iâm really disappointed it came to this. I donât want to go elsewhere, but I treat everyone with dignity and respect, and I insist on being treated the same way (something I wasnât afforded during my last...
Read moreI have been a SOMO customer for years now and always been very happy. This morning just made me wanna never give them my business again. đ They've been advertising since February 21st (the post has been deleted since this encounter) that they would have ducks TODAY 3/12. I was up there at 7:45 to wait for them open. Like 5-10 other people showed up as well. We all go in and there's no birds. I asked the only employee I saw, do you not have your ducks out yet? He said, yea uhhh they ship tomorrow... I said, what?? You've been advertising today. He said, no... tomorrow maybe... Kinda heartbroken and mad, I left. While driving back home I called them. I said, I know you don't normally hold birds but is there any way you'd make an exception since it was your store that made the mistake... He kinda went off on me! đĄ I match energy so this is where the conversation went from 1-100. I loudly told him that the store advertised TODAY. I was incredibly disappointed and very inconvenienced. He aggressively said, "I'M THE ONE WHO POSTED IT AND I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN CUZ I WON'T BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! I don't even know if we're getting anything at all, ducks or chickens!" There was a lot more to the conversation but the gist of it is, the store was in the wrong and I was treated like absolute trash when I tried to find a solution. I will not deny that I did raise my voice multiple times in the conversation but only after he came at me with anger. I'm genuinely shocked by how this morning went because I have never had nothing but good experiences there. They're always so nice and helpful. The employees always seem so happy to be there. It's the only place I go for farm supplies and feed. Not anymore. And I'm pretty...
Read moreThis store is ok as far as products at a fair price but, I hate going here simply because the staff has to be the rudest people I have ever met in my life. I have been in about 6 times since we moved to the area a year ago. Not ONCE have I ever been greeted upon entering the store. I have been stared up and down, glanced at, and all around ignored but not once have I received even an attempt at a greeting. Every time I have gone to check out I have had to interrupt a conversation between the cashiers. Then I am not treated as a valued customer but as an inconvenience that was some kind of kill joy at a party. Then today as I was checking out was the last straw. Again I was not greeted and had to interrupt a conversation between three cashiers, which I donât understand because Iâve never seen them busy enough to justify more than one cashier... anyway my entire interaction today with the staff I was simply asked if that was all I was buying and once the transaction was finished I was told âyouâre all setâ. Not a have a nice day, thanks for coming in, come back soon, or even how you doing. I can honestly say I will never go back. If I were the owner of this facility I would fire everyone and start over. Clearly there is a problem here that is bigger than one or two people. I will drive all the way across town to a competitor that is polite before I give somo...
