Where do I begin? First I must say that I have a terrible bias in this situation. I have never met Dr. T in person, but I know Dr. K (Karen) quite well. We met as fellow graduate students at Vanderbilt when we were both young idealist. As time would have it, we lost contact, but re-established an old friendship when we ran across each other through LinkedIn. Karen always impressed me as a terribly ethical, bright and kind person who wanted to leave this world a better place than before she came. When she told me that she and her sweetie had opened up an Organic Soap business, I KNEW it had to be EXTRAORDINARY! It is simply not in her character to do ANYTHING that is short of EXCELLENT! Such is the case with The Blue Ridge Soap Shed and their wonderful products. From their very first bar of soap forward, I realized that using anything other than their soaps would be, just "an ordinary bath". Their soaps are an EXPERIENCE, far above the harsh world we all live in. Their products are among the true luxuries that we can all afford. My skin felt so much softer, and my usual winter dry skin problems became a thing of the past. In short, I will NEVER go back to ordinary soaps.

However, the clincher came when a painful spring skin allergy that I had experienced the year before, came roaring back. After an informative conversation with Dr. Karen, she sent me Tea Tree Salve and Tea Tree Soap,(a regular blend, formulated by Tim). I began using these blends, and my HORRIBLE allergy began to rapidly heal, much faster than my conventional doctor's visit could have produced. Imagine, if you will, what their soaps and such can do for those folks who just want a great body experience. As I said in the beginning, I am terribly biased, but a bias comes from a history of good experience. You will NEVER be sorry, and you will NEVER go back! Besides.... you have the added bonus of knowing that you have supported two amazing people who are pursuing their dream of independence...

Stumbled upon this place a few years ago while on vacation. Beautiful store, it is like being in a candy store with all the diffrent soaps to smell. The owner is very friendly and is a professor with an in depth knowledge of the actual chemistry and science behind what he makes. My dad talked with him for a long time about the whole proccess and his personal history. Since returning home we have used his website many times to place orders for ourself and gifts. No the bars arent "pretty" they look like normal soap bars, not rainbow neon colored bars you may find at a craft fair. But they smell wonderful ( not too strong) and lather great. My skin feels very soft. Thats why i keep going back. I have so many scents to try but so far my favorites are the ginger tea tree foot soap (called foot/hand soap, but fine for full body, has a grittyness in it for better scrubbing) and the snickerdoole goat milk for its scent. He sells sample bags (about the size of hotel bars, slightly bigger) and bling bags which is a nice way of trying new ones. He also normally includes a small random sample (one to two uses in size) in every order. Price comes out to avout $5 a bar, but they last a long time and are cheaper than the natural soaps at my local health store. Plus i know I am supporting a home/family...

I've been dealing with a skin condition under my arms and breast for years; that I could never identify. Until I did some research and found it was Intertrigo. The Blue Ridge Soap Shed came up in a home remedies search for the condition. I read a few reviews from others and the ingredients in the soap. Pleased with what I found, I placed and order for 2 bars. They arrived Aug 7th/8th (very quick) and I used the Intertrigo soap for the first time yesterday (8/10). Within one day my underarms have lightened in color as if the soap pulled out any toxins that may have accumulated from chemical deodorants. My skin feels smooth and dry; no sweating overnight like I usually do. I can't wait to see the total results by the end of the week.
