we were there in October for our annual camping trip. we usually stop in every year, and this year was special. We really like the remodeling of your shop. The local gemstones and the jewelry you are making from them is awesome. it is so refreshing to see actual gems that are from North Carolina than some "seeded" gemstones from all over. The only thing I am disappointed with is you dont seem to have a website and i am interested in purchasing some more of your jewelry for Christmas gifts. We have waited two months for the gems he said he would cut for my daughter. She is heartbroken, our vacation to Ashville was because she wanted to go to this mine. So sad for all of us. Has not returned our calls or emails. Planning to try to reverse the credit card charges, but won't change how sad our poor daughter is. Guess it is a life lesson that some people aren't honest?

The actual mining portion was a lot of fun and the staff was extremely nice/helpful. However, we opted to get some cut/polished - 4 out of 5 were returned back to us (which looked great), but took over a year to receive. On top of that, the last one was my favorite and I was told it was huge/extremely nice, but never was returned. We have called/emailed them and they never return our communications or provide the stone - up until this day 3 years ago, still never...
