When I originally went for my dress it was an overall great experience. (Except for the fact that I had to ask to try on the dress I actually chose multiple times.) the consultant was sweet but kept pulling dresses I did not care for. When I went to try on my dress when it finally came in, it was HUGE. So big to the point it was hanging off of me in all areas. At first I thought this was normal, but I took it to my seamstress and she was shocked. She talked to the owner and suggested ordering a few sizes smaller so it would be cheaper for alterations and look better altered. The owner disagreed and thought we were doing the wrong thing based on a size chart. My seamstress took my measurements on the phone with the owner and measured me an inch and a half smaller in every area they had taken. The owner didn’t know I was on speaker phone (we thought nothing of it because she was measuring me) and she made a comment how I had to have lost weight and this is my fault. She also didn’t say it in a very nice manner. (Also, I did NOT lose weight in the covid chaos... Had I lost weight I would have been more than happy to say so!!) The seamstress and I decided to go ahead and order the smaller dress. The owner told me I would need to pay the expediting fee, I disagreed because I did not feel this was my error. She agreed to cover it which was nice. When my sister in law and I went to pick up the smaller dress the owner was there to help us. As soon as I tried the dress on she was telling me I should have listened to her and stuck with the larger dress. (Keep in mind, I am not exaggerating when I say the first dress was hanging off of me everywhere. I couldn’t even keep it up without holding.) She kept saying the buttons were going to pull and we should have listened to her. I was very upset because I just feel she couldn’t admit defeat and apologize they had made an error. My dress ended up still needing alterations but it fit perfectly after (And it was NOT too small what so ever!!!) I absolutely loved my dress but what happened did not make it an overall fun experience. Had they apologized and taken some responsibility and not blamed it on me, my rating could have been different. I have been asked where I got my dress by many, but would not recommend my...
Read moreAbsolutely would NOT recommend. My Best friend bought her dress from here and had a wonderful experience with her consultant, Kimberly. So Naturally, when I got engaged, I decided I would come here to look for my dress. I called over two months in advance and spoke with Kimberly directly. I specifically requested for her to me my consultant and was told that with so much advance notice, this would not be a problem. When the day came for my appointment, myself, my bridal party, and my mother arrive and are immediately told by Kimberly that she would not be my consultant. Matter of fact, they did not even have a room for me to try on dresses! Another woman who worked there, suggested we look around and pull dresses while we wait. This was kind of a pain, because we had absolutely nowhere to set the dresses. About 30 minutes past my appointment time, they finally had a room and consultant for me. There was a little board outside of the room with another bride's name on it. And my consultant, Trisha (sp?) was AWFUL. She did not pull a single dress, defended dresses we had pulled ourselves that I decided were not for me as if she had handmade them herself, and she seemed to be there only to ask me "So do you like this one?" She gave no input, no suggestion, NOTHING. I left there without ordering a dress, and headed straight to Mestads in Rochester. It was a complete night and day difference. My experience at Mestads was how I had always imagined dress shopping. White Rose Bridal was TERRIBLE. I never write poor reviews, but my experience was so bad that it prompted me to write my first and only bad review....
Read moreI am a bride and I was referred to White Rose Bridal for dress shopping by a family member who heard there was a dress shop in a church. I was intrigued so I made an appointment. I had never been there before so while I was confirming my appointment over the phone I asked “what all do you offer there? Do you have tux rentals and flower girl dresses as well?” And the rude response I got was “We are a bridal shop so we sell everything bridal.” I was shocked at the response I got. All of my bridesmaids, my mom and I went there anyway. We show up and they made us remove all of our shoes without warning beforehand, so several of us were barefoot (gross). The service was horrible. The staff did not help us with sizing, colors, styles, or clipping of the dresses. They simply stood there or went downstairs and left us to figure out everything by ourselves. The dressing room (yes, one room for the whole bridal party to share) had no lighting and the curtain was a blanket sewn onto a rod. One of my bridesmaids stepped on a staple that was on the carpet and started bleeding but when we told the staff they didn’t seem to care as they just walked away.
I would not recommend this place at all.
Unfortunately for them I will be taking my business to Mestads where they knew their stuff, were extremely helpful, and are actually cheaper.
White rose is not a perfessional...
