Contacted Augusta Plumbing and Heating to schedule a time to connect a new water heater that was already in place - just needed to make the hot and cold water connections (either solder or propress), reconnect and test the gas fittings for leaks (all of the fittings were in place, including a new black iron nipple on the water heater), and reconnect the 4-inch ducting to the adapter on the top of the heater. I had removed the old water heater (I cut the cold and hot 3/4" copper piping cleanly, leaving ample slack for subsequent unions) and placed it in my garage. I placed the new water heater in the designated location myself to ensure that an aluminum drain pan was placed under the heater prior to installation with the PVC outlet directed toward the floor drain. A service call for this work was scheduled for July 26. When the plumber called to advise me that he was on his way, I was informed that they were going to give me a 20% discount off of their line-item pricing for water heater installation. With this discount, I was quoted $679. Again, most of the work was already done - the new water heater was in place and the old one was in my garage. I contacted their office to see if this could be negotiated. I was told no. So, I cancelled the service call and immediately contacted El-Jay Plumbing and Heating. Today, one of El-Jay's plumbers stopped by and completed the installation. I was charged for 1 hour labor, $30 for the travel time, and around $75 for parts. Total bill: $220, or less than 1/3 of the "discounted" price that Augusta Plumbing and Heating was planning to charge me. Needless to say, I won't be calling Augusta again. El-Jay won all of my future business. Upon leaving my place, the El-Jay plumber stated, "I can say officially that this was the easiest water heater installation I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāve had several experiences with Augusta Plumbing and Heating over the last three years. This last experience though we would like to reach out to several employees with our appreciation for ādoing the right thing, standing by your word and treating us and the situation with respect and kindness.ā
Joe - Thank you for your kindness, knowledge and determination in trying to fix our unfortunate air conditioner situation. Joe was here all day to diagnose the issue and we believe went down every avenue he could to try to fix it. Joe was also here a couple months ago and helped with our tankless water heater. Heās very knowledgeable in many areas.
Eric - Thank you for understanding our situation, frustration and listening to us and ultimately coming to a resolution that wasnāt necessarily beneficial for Augusta. Augusta stood by their word, showed integrity and we would highly recommend.
Jacques and Rob - These guys were great installing our new air conditioner and 3 mini splits. Patient, respectful, helped to make sure we knew how to run the new system and even helped set up the Wi-fi remotes. Their knowledge was valuable and very helpful. Additionally, put up with my husband following them around for two days with all his questions. š
All and all it took a real team that worked together and we appreciate you all. THANK YOU - Cori & Dee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery subpar. I paid $189 to be told my furnace was 12 years old and the circuit board was bad. I was told the cost of replacing the board would be $1040.00 but I should consider replacing the furnace instead of investing that kind of money into a 12 year old furnace. The tech said the cost of the board was high due to supply issues and difficulty in finding one. The tech said heād get me a written estimate first thing in the morning for the repair/replacement so I could decide and get this taken care of. No estimate was provided and no one contacted me again since. I built my home 5 years ago so I questioned how the furnace could be 12 years old. I contacted the manufacturer and found the furnace was built 9/9/18 making the furnace 5 years old. I checked online for the circuit board and found several options between $100 and $150 and any of them could have been delivered the next day. At the manufacturās website I found some things to do that might explain the problem. One was to clean the flame sensor. I did and the furnace fired but shut down when the fan turned on. (This is the original complaint) I then removed the filter and the furnace fired and continued to run when the fan turned on with no issues so I believe the issue is air flow. Iāll be contacting someone else to...
