Lack of common sense and communication. They had the 15% off bag sale and screwed me out of the sale. Being a regular customer for personal and business, it's quite amazing at how I was treated. The bag sale I've done before and the cashier always had enough sense to tell what fit in the bag and what didn't. This time was no different but the cashier was a young girl who seemed somewhat new. She checked the items and scanned the bag at the end. I paid up but thought the final price seemed high. I was using a few gift cards from family members at the same time, and there were a few people behind me... so I didn't question it at the time. I went to my truck and saw my receipt showed no discount. Okay she messed up.. things happen... I'm extremely easy going when things like this happen. I go inside and the cashier is busy to I head to the manger's desk and explain the situation. It was pretty clear what would fit in the bag, but she didn't give me the discount. I should have put it in the bag of course... but why would the cashier not say something when she scanned the bag? This was a brand new folded paper bag that many items I had would fit into. The manager says she will fix it no problem.... perfect. She asks no questions as I wait for her to do her magic and she says "I'll give you $6.37 back" This is after spending nearly $250 on back splash, and another hundred in other items. I explain that I want the discount on the back slash and not the few items that were very cheap that she said "would fit in the bag". I explained the only reason I was there was for the back splash discount and that she should re-apply the discount to those items. She said they would not fit in the bag with the others (2 of them being RV antifreeze gallon jugs). Keep in mind the back splash fits into one small plastic bag. She sticks with her guns on nothing more will fit in the bag (even though she could have swapped everything out and ONLY had the back splash in there) and she can't do anything else for me. Another manger comes over and is wanting to check the camera's to see if I had a bag and what would fit in. Really? This is wasting my time. I said I'll bring it all back in and show you that the back splash easily fits into the bag. He walks off to the camera's and I said screw it after arguing about possibly the easiest thing to prove in the world.... not really worth my time for what should have been around $45 saved. Simply principal of a company that will try harder to screw you over for no real reason. I spend many thousands at this location every year. The money isn't the big deal here... it's the absolute disgust of a companies ability to help a customer and do the right thing. As a GM of a company who deals with similar situations on a daily basis, this treatment was...

In early October I called the SCF store and inquired about an insulation blower. I was told they do not reserve, first come first served. The following Saturday morning, I called the store around 7:30 am and they had two on hand. Left the house and went to the store. Walked in and went straight to the service counter. Cashier remembered me calling and said they were both still there. I told her I wanted one, but needed to get a few things in the store. "No problem" she said. Came back ten minutes later and BOTH units were gone. As soon as I approached the counter, she realized what had happened and had a horrified look on her face. She informed that they had both been rented and apologized. I was upset to say the least. A manager happened to be running the other register and I stepped over to confront him. He stopped for a moment, apologized, and then went back about his business. I left the store in disgust and then went home and promptly filled out a complaint form and mailed it in. In the pics, you will see the first response I received, dated October 14th. It was not satisfactory and I replied with my letter dated November 4th (we were on vacation!). They replied a second time with the letter dated November 8th and here we are. A corporate customer service department that won't even speak to a customer on the phone and refuses to answer any questions! I love shopping at Menard's, but that may change...

This is a letter that I wrote to Menard's: I would like to cancel my account and never have anything to do with Menard's again. You discriminate against people with disabilities with your very strict mask mandate. Masks have never been proven to work and I cannot wear a mask due to medical reasons. It does more harm than good. I just called and spoke to a manager in the St. Croix Falls, WI. store. He said that it is still required to wear a mask when shopping there even though the mask mandate is lifted in Wisconsin. I was told that I could order items and then pick it up at the store but I would have to pay a fee for that service. That does not give me the same opportunity as people that are not disabled and is in violation of my natural rights. I would much rather shop in the store, but you are not letting me because I am disabled and then you say I have to pay a fee? That is not reasonably accommodating to someone who is disabled and is discrimination. You have lost my business and everyone that I know. You have the right to enforce the mask mandate because you are a private businesses, but you don't have the right to discriminate against the disabled community. You will not stay in business long if you keep this up and are showing that you are against freedom and are not for equality. I will be contacting a lawyer in this manner. Please let me know how to delete my account because I don't see that option on your...
