I had an absolute blast at the St. Paul Rodeo in Oregon this year! This iconic event, held in the charming small town of St. Paul, truly lives up to its reputation as the "Nationโs Greatest Fourth of July Rodeo." The energy was electric from start to finish, with thrilling performances like bull riding, barrel racing, and steer wrestling that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The rodeoโs commitment to Western heritage shines through, blending heart-pounding action with a warm, community-driven atmosphere. What sets this rodeo apart is the family-friendly vibeโthereโs something for everyone! The carnival was a hit with the kids, offering fun rides and classic fair food, while the Tack Room Saloon and live music added a festive touch for adults. The July 4th parade was a patriotic highlight, and the fireworks each night were spectacular, lighting up the Oregon sky. The whole town comes together to make this event special, with hundreds of volunteers ensuring everything runs smoothly. I was also impressed by the rodeoโs rich history and its support for the community through the St. Paul Rodeo Foundation, which funds scholarships and local causes. Itโs no wonder this event draws nearly 75,000 people to a town of just 400! Whether youโre a rodeo fan or just looking for a memorable summer outing, the St. Paul Rodeo is a must-visit. Iโm already looking forward to next yearโs...
ย ย ย Read moreSt. Paul is really small so if you've never been and you're coming to the rodeo first time, I suggest getting there at least an hour and a half before the rodeo starts so you can find parking and check out all the amazing vendors that come in from all over the US for this event. The best and least expensive parking is off the main road, to the south of the main entrance on the west side of the road. You can park in a giant field. A lot of people will open parking in their private homes or fields but they charge 20, and the main parking is only 15. They also have porta potties there. Then it's just a quick walk across the street. Must check out the local bar there. The main event is amazing. St. Paul has one of the biggest purses in the US for this level of rodeo, so there's really good competition and very special events specific to st. Paul. Below is a pic of the field you park next to and me with one of my...
ย ย ย Read moreThe rodeo was awesome, hasn't been in a long time. However I must say walking around before the rodeo unless, you got something to eat and even then there's hardly any place to sit and rest. I've had leg problems so I can only walk so long until I have to sit and couldn't even find a place. Also when leaving the handicap parking area after the rodeo, no one was directing traffic. Once we got to the road there was a young guy using his hand and just carrying a stop/slow sign but not even using it and looking at the other staff like he had no clue what he was doing. The other staff was getting their traffic going in a routine order and we have been sitting in line for 45 minutes trying to even get to the road, he was hardly letting anyone go each turn. When I asked him a question while waiting he copped an attitude and said he was in charge and would let us go when he...
