I’ve called about a stray dog. However they never showed up called the place and they had me on hold for over 30 minutes. This stray would not leave my front porch and I have dogs of my own. I had no idea if the dog had any type disease and I have two indoor dog. I expressed how important I needed this dog picked up because my two dogs are indoor dogs and they have to go out thru my porch to go use the bathroom. They claimed “they didn’t have any pens available” and also “this is the only pound you can call for this county” I expressed how unfortunately at that moment I didn’t care what they done to the dog because it would not even allow my dogs to go out because it would non stop barking and again I didn’t know if the dog had anything. They hung the phone up on me as I was on hold. I called back to advise i was left on hold for over 30 minutes then hung up on. The lady had an attitude as I’m just trying to get the dog help and removed from my porch where it refuses to leave. It became very annoying because again I have two indoor dog whom HAVE TO GO OUT TO USE THE BATHROOM. I could not afford another dog. Because again this dog is a stray and would need a lot of medical treatment. I’ve called as soon as they opened and they took my information. Now I would be wrong if I would have to put the dog down myself because the dog pound is choosing not to do their jobs and help these strays. I would advise not even to depend on calling for a stray pickup because they will never call you and they will never come...

And there are a few soft souls that just sit and watch too. Cacophony, may be putting it mildly, Icould hardly hear what another person was saying just right by my side. The pound is at capacity, and all those pups and kitties sure could use a forever home. There are two female GSDs that I met today. Both were sweet, loving, and calm. I've got knee surgery in my immediate future, so I just can't adopt at this time. If you can't adopt, consider donations. Time to walk and socialize them or monetary donations to help with food and cat litter. Please spay and neuter your pets. There is no reason to just throw away life or drop it at the end...

Took a stray dog here that was dumped on a dead end road. There was some back and forth with animal control since I took the dog from the country and brought it into the city. Posted on Facebook and a lady from a rescue said she would rescue this dog as it will need some surgery. Thank you God they had one kennel available. I was able to take the dog there myself. The man that answered the phone was very nice and the lady at the desk who took my info was nice too. The dog was terrified as the other dogs were barking at it so I was able to coax the dog to the very back kennel. The staff was patient and allowed me to do this without rushing the dog or pulling it on a leash. Even offered the dogs treats. I hope the rescue comes through and gets this dog. Robeson county really needs to do better with spaying/neutering their pets so the shelter are not full with unwanted animals. So many dogs and cats litter the roads where they have been hit and people need to do better or NOT have an animal at all. Anyways, I was impressed with the patience and kindness...
