Tangles Salon — Local services in Standish

I have hesitated to post a review for this salon. I REALLY wanted to love it. However, I have nothing good to report. A couple of weeks ago I got what I thought would be a simple cut. 8-10 inches cut off the length. I wanted a angle cut down the sides and a bit of texture or layers to help with volume. I dont have the amount of hair that I used to but by no means is it too thin to layer. I was told , "no to texture or layers". I still gave a $20 tip to the owner. I called a few days later and said I really wanted to revisit the angle. I didn't actually get any style. I only got the 8 inch trim which I didn't really want. Again, I was told "no" this time it was because she, the owner, didn't have any time. Oh wait there's more..... I canceled the color appointment I had made but did schedule a spray tan. 2 weeks later I showed up for my appointment only to hear for the first time that I'd be getting a "spray done by hand" I was told I'd need to undress and she would be right back. This surprised me to say the least. Im leaving for a trip in 3 days so I did it although not comfortable. I also was concerned that it wouldn't be as even as when done by machine/booth. That was dismissed. It's been over 8 hours now and there are areas on my body that have a layer of BLACK dust like film. Not absorbed. Under my arms are black, not tan. Thankfully my face and front of legs look okay. Certainly, I'm not thin all over but I do have very thin legs. The sides of my thighs and hips do not look spayed. Lastly, I asked if someone could just do a quick toe nail polish, not a pedi. I was told "No".

Overall nothing went right at this place. Don't waste your time....

after going back for a 3rd time in the hopes that she would fix what she did to my hair i had reached the conclusion that the owner (anita) is completely incompetent at cutting hair. after reading these reviews i can only conclude that she isn't incompetent; worse she's petty and unprofessional. i not only told her exactly what i wanted and more importantly what i didn't i also showed her a picture. she said she thinks it looks good the way it is; i said it doesn't matter what she thinks; it matters what i think. apparently she was offended. there are no words to describe how devastated i was when i got home and had the opportunity to really see what she had done. i believe the pictures speak for themselves. unbelievably unprofessional and doesn't deserve...

Casey cut my hair and it came out absolutely perfect. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and Casey nailed it. Great cut, very clean and good conversation. I’ve tried four other salons before going here and my hair always got cut crooked. You won’t be disappointed with Casey.
