This was my first time camping in this location. I wasn't disappointed either. I have always camped in The Gorge for so so many years and hardly ever been disappointed, and this was no exception. At the particular time I went the maintenance Crews were doing some improvement work on the road and it made for a short delay a bit of a slow down but nothing that withheld our interest for long! In fact one of the things that makes this place such a great place to visit is the fact that it is maintained so well and protected by so many who care so so much about it. Workers here don't just work here they are a part of this place! And that's what makes a place to we great in my opinion. I would highly recommend visiting or at a minimum getting online doing some research find out what others say and make up your own mind and then just pack up and go visit! And don't worry if you forget a few Necessities there's plenty of places back at the entrance nonetheless but still plenty of places where you can find those little things that you may have forgotten to pack a toothbrush and toothpaste or firewood for campfires or fishing hooks for fishing whatever the case may be and there are plenty of spots to fish my friends. If you're going to Camp be certain to purchase a camping pass and those can be purchased at practically any local business at the entrance way to the Gorge all of the establishments sell the passes and they're usually something like maybe $1 per day so it's not like you're spending any big bucks but that money does go towards precious upkeep and maintenance for a piece of our natural history that in my opinion needs to stay open to the public and maintained! You look around you see no trash or very little trash because people are a very respectful even the visitors and the park officials do a great job when people aren't quite as user-friendly with their trash as they should be. Remember when you're in the mountains you want to keep your trash picked up and put away because there are natural Wildlife to consider and their sense of smell especially food are many many times greater than humans sense of smell. So to keep your trash picked up needless to say helps to keep the bears away! To appreciate natural beauty clearly includes...
