I decided to get some of my friends together for a friends Birthday & take a field trip to Red River Gorge this past weekend and booked a tour of two groups of 6 for a unique kayaking experience that takes you beneath the earth, into the tranquil beauty of an old flooded mine, where crystal-clear kayaks give you an uninterrupted view of the blue-green waters below.
Our amazing guides Dustin & Jake were both experienced and knowledgeable local guides, this adventure combines history, natural wonder, and camaraderie. The guides know the mine inside and out, sharing stories of its mining past while ensuring our safety and having the best time. As you paddle along, the subtle glow of underwater lights in your kayaks illuminates fish swimming beneath you and rock formations that rise from the water’s depths.
Our group included old & new friends & SUP Kentucky’s team helped everyone feel welcome and excited. They add an element of fun, sharing tips for paddling and even capturing those unforgettable group photos as you navigate the cave’s twists and turns. It’s not just about the scenery; it’s the laughter, the shared “wow” moments, and the sense of discovery that makes this a top-tier experience for adventurers of all levels.
For anyone seeking a blend of excitement and tranquility with great company and the best guides, I highly recommend crystal kayaking with SUP Kentucky at Red...
Read moreDefiantly recommend. Underground kayaking in clear clean water. Once in the cave well groomed pathways lead you down to a very nice installed dock that makes it easy to get into the kayaks without getting wet. Our guides were great. One was in front of the group and one was behind the group making sure no one was left behind. The lead guide made the trip ever better than it was with funny comments and interesting historical facts about mining, geology and the history of the cave. We learned that this cave was recently used in 2 movies; One on Netflix and the other on YouTube. We learned about the huge rainbow fish in the water, some as large as the largest rainbow fish ever caught on record in KY. They were stocked fish and had no natural predators in the cave. They were brought in because the water is too cold for most fish. But rainbow fish have 2 hearts so they can live in the cold water.
Our party contained 2 adults in their 40s, a 19 year old, and 13 year old. Everyone had a good time. But the 13 year old complained of cold hands. They offer neoprene gloves and socks for a $2 rental fee. And since you're not allowed to wear shoes in the kayak, I definitely recommend the socks. I didn’t try the gloves, but my hands were cold too, so next time I will rent the...
Read moreThis was such an amazing adventure! We were in town for my daughter's graduation (Masters in School Counseling #ProudMom). The whole staff was absolutely Phenomenal. Faith helped us book the tour that worked with our crazy travel plans. She was a true blessing and saved our trip. Kim was the first person we saw when we entered the property. Full of smiles, she was so pleasant, kind, and helpful. Drew was our main guide, very obvious he Loves his job. He is so full of energy and knowledge, and just wanted to make sure we had a great tour. He took some great pictures too. He was fun and witty, and threw out a couple of Dad jokes along the way. Tyler was our other guide (we got lucky and had 2). Although a little quieter and bringing up the rear, he took some great photos too and was more than willing to share his love for his job. We had a sweet couple from Illinois that was able to join our tour as well. So much fun! Thank you all for making this an Amazing Adventure. We have already shared our experience with my daughter's friends in the area!!!! Get ready for some more business! Definitely Recommend if you are anywhere near the Rogers,...
