The show unit I looked at seemed nice.
My move in window was very short and I asked the Creekside if I could move in sooner. They said "Maybe, I think that unit is just sitting empty right now.". They apparently checked and said that the apartment wouldn't be ready for me to move in until the 16th, the already agreed upon move in date. I thought this meant the apt was empty but needed to be either renovated, cleaned, etc. before I moved in.
In the meantime any communication was pretty difficult since they seem to use a messaging app to send emails with a .io address at the end. They never respond back to any replies you give to emails with a .io address. Once someone emailed me with a normal address they are fairly timely with replies, but any communication before that was poor.
I finally get to move in on the agreed date of the 16th, but I was not happy with what I saw. The apartment was not clean.
The floors had a layer of dirt/grim and were sticky. My socks would be black just after a few hours of walking around the apt not to mention how gross it feels to have your socks stick to the floor.
Lightbulbs were dead in the bathroom.
The fridge was not clean and had an open container of cat food in it.
The dishwasher is very poor. I needed to clean it to get rid of the calcium and lime built up inside and it works better now, but still isn't good.
Spaghetti noodles were laying across the floor of the kitchen.
The walls in the home were dirty with smears and what looked like liquids that dripped down and dried. One room upstairs I assume was a kids due to the nerf bullets and Legos left on the floor and what I assume/hope is snot smeared on the walls.
The upstairs doesn't seem to have an underlayer for the flooring so steps are loud and the baseboard doesn't sit flush with the linoleum flooring they have installed leaving a large gap between the floor and baseboards. This gap had lots of trash in it from previous tenets that was really easy to see due to the large gap, so it proves no one cleaned the place before I moved in.
The flooring was installed very poor and you can tell they tried to save us much on material jig sawing scraps together. Parts of the floor are chipped off and have not been repaired between tenants.
The show unit I looked at had carpets upstairs in the bedroom while mine does not.
The walls are the thinnest I have ever lived with. I can hear everything in the two adjoining apartment like there is nothing between them.
With these being fairly new units and the show unit being kept up nice, I assume Creekside had higher standards and took care of their units/tenants but this place is lacking. I think they assume every tenant is a college student who will trash the apt so there is no need to keep them in good shape. I wouldn't recommend these apartments and I wish I just stayed at my old one now.
I assume the people that work here don't want tenants to be upset. But more effort is needed on their end. I had to move in quick over two days in order to get on a flight back home to see my family. The last thing I needed was to throw my stuff into an unkept apartment in order to catch my flight. They offered to clean it while I was gone once I complained, but I had my stuff just thrown about the apt since I didnt have time to really unpack, so they were not able to. The people working here seem really nice and listen, but they just seemed to drop the ball with me moving in which for me was a really big inconvenience. People deserve to be treated more decent, not sure if they just don't get enough time/resources to do better. Other reviews show similar...
Read moreDo not rent from this apartment complex. Had multiple issues. Very unprofessional management and unorganized. Lived here 3/22-10/22 and this way the worst place I lived in. As soon as we moved in, our carpets were not cleaned and were filled with animal hair after instructing us that when we move out we had to have the carpets professionally cleaned after ours weren't. Our rent was due on the 5th of each month and they tried to add late fees to our account on multiple occasions and even an eviction notice on our door at one point. Beginning the month of August I started paying an additional month to month fee because I knew I wanted to find a new place to live. I let them know on Sept. 14th 2022 that I would be moving out on October 14th, 2022 to which I would have a prorated rent of October since I was only there for half the month. Shortly after, I received a mark on my credit from a collection company because Creekside Townhomes claimed that I still owed them money. I recently figured out it was because they said they had no recollection of paying rent from October 2022. Why would I have not paid rent?? I hated living at this place the entire time and wanted to leave and get out and have nothing to do with them. I no longer have that bank so I had to call and get my bank transactions and I emailed it to Creekside proof that I made a check out to them on the 5th of October 2022. I called for an update weeks later because they said they had to send it over to their accounting department and the ONE very nice front desk lady Allison did help me and actually emailed me over proof that Creekside DID IN FACT RECIEVE MY CASHIERS CHECK. I then called the bank and they informed me that the check had NEVER been cashed. So this is all at fault of Creekside & they are still trying to say we need to pay them AFTER THEY KEPT OUR ENTIRE SECURITY DEPOSIT AND ADDITIONALLY FILED A CLAIM TO COLLECTIONS SAYING THAT WE OWE MORE MONEY! They have not just ruined my credit. It was mine, my roommates, and our co signer!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous & unprofessional as this is completely at fault of Creekside. WHY WOULD MY CHECK NOT HAVE BEEN CASHED IF RECIEVED?!?! The manager sent over an itemized list of the charges and there was late fee added with the rent and month to month charges! Which definitely needs to be removed as it wasn't late. It was added because they said they never received my check. AND ALSO WHY WOULD YOU NOT HAVE TOLD ME I HAD ANY REMAINING BALANCES WHENEVER I WENT INTO THE OFFICE ON OCTOBER 14TH TO RETURN MY KEYS!?!? also to add the washers and dryers took all of our money and literally...
Read moreTL;DR: Overpriced; Bad Laundry Facilities; Maintenance; Over-worked staff; Loud Neighbors; Poorly Insulated.
Over-priced Townhomes with little to no regard to the tenant themselves. I moved here in August 2020 and cannot wait for my lease to be over so I can get OUT. The Office staff are nice but they are forgetful. I've never been called for a package that was delivered to the office although they told me I would be. I've always had to go and ask for it myself. This wouldn't be such a problem unless i had unexpected packages. I once waited a week for such call on a package I knew was coming in without a call.
Likewise, when I moved in the vent in my bedroom was stuck to "always off" and in summer that really needs to be fixed. Maintenance came to "fix" it by busting it open until it opened. I now have a messed up vent that Maintenance told me they would be by in a couple of days to replace - they never came... it's been 6 months. But I'm sure Creekside will find a way to charge me for something their Maintenance team did.
Laundry Facilities here are TERRIBLE. The coin-based machines are very old-school but they probably work the best? There are at least 5 washers and dryers that do not work but will gladly eat your coins and 'pretend' to work for about 5 minutes. However, even if they do work they often require two or three rounds of drying to get your clothes actually dry (and that's after splitting it up into smaller portions, separating towels, etc.) The card-based machines will never work right for me. They will 'pretend' to work and fail a few minutes later. I once lost $14.00 to these machines. Creekside just said OH WELL.
Not to mention I think they are overworking the only leasing/cleaning lady on their team? I always see her running around looking exhausted and drained going from unoccupied unit to unoccupied unit.
Neighbor-wise it's a draw of the bag. I had semi-decent neighbors but one tenant always threw parties across the street from me. My adjacent neighbors were nice but the walls are EXTREMELY THIN and I can hear a full on talking conversation of one of my neighbors in their Livingroom while I cook in my kitchen... Privacy is almost impossible to get unless your neighbors both leave. But even then you can hear everything outside too.
The snow storm wasn't as difficult in Creekside but I realized VERY FAST that the windows are not insulated around the edges and the door has gaps through it's doorframe. Even though power did not go out the leaks of cold air made keeping everything moderately warm (60 degrees minimum)...
