We stopped in yesterday but the owner Cheryl was off; she was not in on this day but for the remaining week she will be in. I am sorry that we could not have chat. I know that I am unpleasant yet all likes my husband as he supports me. Saying hi, is all! Thank you for the continued invites to the Halloween Open House but we can't attend I am sorry to say; that my husband has to work and it's quite a drive on the weekend as we have chores to do; laundromat since we can't use the washing/dryer on the lot here; they continue to have me be with another as this occurs times and again; that's what is done when you marry out of your ethnic group or it only happens to me. I don't think that Harris' parents went through this; they had proof of their union with two girls: Maya being the other one. I don't ever make sense and I am not nice. Stay well. I've been shopping there for decades and I must say that they've seen better days; myself included. The owner/manager Cheryl LaPlante is at times personable and not; perhaps what I am wearing when we visit puts her off or I am confused by her treatment of us. Her staff these days makes me weary when I am there; they seem rude but again what I say or experience is mine alone. Now the items that I have purchased from there over the years have all been wonderful; and of good quality and what I pay for them using my husband's money have been good; the pricing and value of the goods are equal is what I mean. Thank you for having us despite the seeming rudeness at times. Happy New...
Read more"Oh My Gosh!" Antiques & Collectibles unfortunately just lost several loyal customers after an extremely disrespectful comment was made to my boyfriend behind his back, which they then denied to my face. He requested to use the bathroom key, (which is for customers only, and not rail trail hikers). The woman, who I believe was Cheryl Lapointe, the owner, made a snide comment to her coworker stating “he’s too big to be a rail trailer.” Her coworker saw me watching and hushed her. I immediately stated, “that was pretty rude,” to which both of them ignored. I again stated, “you shouldn’t say that about customers,” and Cheryl responded “oh we were talking about somebody else.” I called her out on that and said “no, you were just talking about my boyfriend who you gave the bathroom key to.” Cheryl said “whatever” and went to the back room. I waited for my boyfriend to come back from the bathroom and told him we needed to leave because a business who treats their loyal customers like this does not deserve any more of our hard earned money. All of this was said in front of other customers as well, without even an apology made once they were caught. I’m disappointed and will no longer take weekend adventures there, and will find a new antique store...
Read moreIt was our first time there today, as we grabbed lunch nearby, we didn’t realize that they closed at 5:00, we arrived at 4:00 only to be rudely greeted. I decided to brush it off and grabbed my treasures, as I was checking out I didn’t see a price on one of the things the women rudely said to me oh it’s pretty obvious that the price is right in front of your face, I profusely apologized as my eyes are bad and hadn’t saw the price. The woman came over to me at about 4:30 stating that I need to hurry up because they were closing and she doesn’t like to stay late. It was only 4:30 I still had 30 mins to still look. We got home and I didn’t realize that one of the Halloween decorations I had purchased was broken, however looking at the receipt the bottom said all sales are final which means I can’t exchange the item or return it. I work in customer service daily at a grocery store and I could honestly say that the customer service in this place is lacking. I will give this place another try or two only because I felt like I was being rushed and to be fair everyone at some point has bad...
