Updated review:
I ordered more plants and mulch and had an issue. Went to the location and spoke with Mark in person. My previous 2 star review was brought up. I explained my frustrations and why I left the previous review. Mark reviewed the policy with me. He explained they had done a curtesy of accepting pictures instead of asking for the dead plants to be brought in person since I had spent a lot of money. Unfortunately that was not explained and it’s a fair policy.
I explained I had already thrown the plant away and was afraid they would not honor the guaranteed pricing so I was frustrated since they hadn’t asked for it before. My frustration came from being told different things when a plant dies.
As uncomfortable the conversation was I feel we both were able to clear up the previous issue. Lesson learned it is better to speak in person when a problem arises than over the phone and I did say that to Mark.
The staff is always pleasant when shopping here and they do have a lot of selection. I have spent money here after my bad review and have had good experiences. Honestly, I left the bad review and had moved on. Mark explained it’s a small business that needs good reviews so here I am updating my review. Issues come up, how to handle them is always a better outcome when dealing in person.
Previous review:
I spent a considerable amount of money using their plant design this summer.
Several plants have died. The first time they came out and replaced. The next few they just accepted pictures of the dead plant and gave me a credit. This last plant they wanted me to dig up the dead plant and bring it in.
I spoke with the manager Tony and he explained the policy. I am fine with the policy but he had no concern for the inconsistency I experienced. He told me I was being difficult and looking for something free. If you buy perennials they are covered for replacement if they die. He then told me he had a customer waiting so he had to go. Again I have no problem with the policy but please listen to your customer when they tell you they have been told various information and how frustrating that is.
I’m floored with his rudeness and lack of customer service.
As a manager take responsibility for how your employees deal with your policies and don’t tell your customers they are being difficult. Part of being a manager is taking the time to listen to your customers when they encounter a problem.
The have a bunch of great staff but if your policies aren’t consistent and management is rude then you’ll get...
Read moreContacted Kali at Sterling to replace my mailbox with a stone post one. They told me they would remove the existing post and put in the new one. Easy. I paid and they came out a couple of days later. They ended up putting the mailbox to the right of the existing landscaped area. Did not remove the post and threw the rocks in the grass. When I contacted them with picture on the left they said they would come out in the spring to correct it. Fast forward to spring. My plants around previous mailbox are growing. Contacted them in early May. Waited weeks for a response. Nothing. Called Kali and was told the owner hadn't told her what to do yet. She asked me what I wanted to done to resolve the issue. Trying to be accommodating, I asked her to move the plants and level the landscaped area so I could grow grass there. Someone was sent out. The plant was moved. The post still has not been removed and the area was not leveled to grow grass. All these great reviews I had read. At least finish the job or correct your error. Completely unacceptable.
New comment based on response on 4/1/24... That is an absolute lie. Please provide ANY evidence that it was communicated that it was based on concrete. In addition, you left the clematis and did not even level the old space (which I still need to do). If you had done a professional job and completed the new space, I would have been fine with that. I'm not at all unreasonable. A response a few years later is just a way to save your reputation. Your service and response is an accurate reflection of your companies lack of ethics. Even in the "fix" it wasn't taken care of. Happy to show current photo. You should be ashamed...
Read moreFirst let me focus on how amazing everyone was to work with! I received this design as a gift from my parents. I received a call that the appointment was scheduled and the patience shown was apparent from the start. I know nothing about landscape design, flowers, bushes and honestly can't tell the difference between poison ivy and something that might be beautiful come fall. I was completely out of my element with doing this!
The staff at Sterling Greenery were absolutely amazing. From the first call, to the photos of the completely overgrown box hedges I sent over, to the final installation I couldn't have asked for better.
The initial call put me at ease immediately. I sent the photos of my yard as they asked for and about a week later they arrived and set out the selections they had made. They asked me to come outside and they took the time to explain exactly why they had chosen the plants and they fit it in with my desires to cover the foundation and gas meters (eventually). They explained which colors would bloom and at what time of the year, how big everything would get, etc... I felt like I was truly making an informed decision. The installation day came and they did an amazing job. I know the front of my house doesn't look like much in the photo but if you could have seen it before!!!
Long story short. You won't be disappointed. Yes, it's more expensive that going out and buying plants yourself but to have not just one, but an entire team of professionals who are just as passionate about making your home beautiful as you are. Well... you simply...
