Kennel and Crate — Local services in Stillwater

Terri and Kennel & Crate built my Pomeranian (Cupcake) a beautiful custom desk kennel years ago that is wonderfully built and still looks brand new today (I attached a photo).

I had to reach back out to Terri for help this year because I had bought my brand new puppy Ariel a TV console kennel (I attached a picture of a TV console kennel that WAS NOT done by Kennel & Crate - I made the mistake of being in a hurry and going with someone local so I would not have to wait for shipping - The materials that were used were cheap and flimsy and it was put together in a hurry with many details out of place - interior not sanded or painted, and it was NOT sturdy or safe for my dog) that was a complete disaster. You can see the barn door fell off. There were screws that actually poked out on the inside that were completely unsafe, and the bars would pop off if they were barely laid against by Ariel.

Terri helped my family, Ariel, and myself SO MUCH! Her customer service is impeccable and I can honestly say she went above and beyond! Not only is the kennel beautifully made, just as my Cupcake’s desk kennel was (beautiful paint and stain, sturdy hardware, quality materials, details that everyone can admire), but the experience was great and I will NEVER buy a custom kennel from anyone else again. As you can see from the many pictures of our new kennel, Ariel is already making herself at home. It is so much more than what pictures can even show (oversized barn door, adjustable shelves, metal tripped top, interior chew guards, the list goes on). It's not everyday you realize that you need a high-end, gorgeous, customized, furniture-quality dog crate. (In our case, we realized we needed a crate that would work as a beautiful indoor rabbit hutch for our daughter's two new rabbits.) But sometimes , as it turns out, that's EXACTLY what you need.

In our case, we needed a crate/hutch to fit precisely into an existing nook in our family room -- the thoughtfully furnished and decorated room in which our family of six spends most of our "together" time and in which a traditional wire kennel just wouldn't look right. After a weekend spent online finding and reviewing work from the small number of providers who specialize in this kind of thing, we came to the conclusion that NO ONE in the category is doing more beautiful, customizable work than Kennel and Crate. Some back-and-forth emails later, it was very clear to us that we had stumbled on exactly the business we were looking for, so we placed our order.

Long story short (or is it already too late for that?), Kennel and Crate built us a crate -- customized dimensions, customized bar spacing, our choice of paint finish, door style, wood stain, distress level, etc., etc. that simply could NOT be more beautiful. It makes the other nice furniture in a room full of nice furniture look good. :-)

This kind of thing isn't for everyone. Sometimes a wire crate really is all you need. But should you ever realize that you need an inside "home" for your dog that you'll be proud to display alongside your other nice things, one built and finished with the same attention to detail we care so much about in other contexts, then we could not recommend Kennel and Crate more highly as...

The staff were all super helpful and respectfully of time, ideas, taste and functionality needed. We’ve tried different kennel in the past and they always fell short. Their quality and price never added up. When I discovered Kennel and Crate it was a complete change of the one size fits all and everyone. I was able to speak with a person and get ideas and felt that the understood my concerns. My husband and I bounced the idea around and I knew that it would we needed something for the puppies. We decide that we would do a larger kennel due to the puppies sitting almost 7 inches in difference. I spoke with their representative both on the phone and the through text we were able to help design a wonderful double kennel and an entertainment center all is one. I was involved in the full process from picking out stains to picking colors. We choose to drive down and save on shipping with our pickup. Kennel and Crate was very understanding when I had to push back our pick up weekend due to our schedules going crazy. My husband drove down and they assisted him in loading the Kennel into our truck and even provide us a touch up kit along with carpet savers. The piece is solid wood and well manufactured here in our beautiful USA. I love the fact that puppies enjoy hanging out in their new kennels they have plenty of room and it their safe place away from the vacuum.
