Pitcher Mountain — Local services in Stoddard

Super great hike. The easy trail is 0.2 miles up. The view from the fire tower platform is prime. There are indeed blueberries I'd you're lucky (unlike this year with the frost).

The abandoned building and pasture on the descent road was nice. We heard some coyotes off in the distance there around 8pm.

The spot would probably be good for nighttime star viewing but it also says the parking area is closed at sunset.

Delightfully easy climb with kids, and a very satisfying summit. The tower is being heavily modified (as of fall '24), and I can only hope they're going to open it back up to visitors. Regardless, it's a lovely climb and lots of wild blueberries...

Very recommended hike.It's very short with great views. There's an abandoned house up there.That's pretty cool and it is well worth the short walk for the amazing view.Not too many hikes like this in...
