I walked in today with my dad to pick up a hi point .40 s&w carbine I had on lay away, it was to be my 18th birthday present before I go off to the navy and my first gun purchase so it was a big deal. I had given them the money to pay off the rest of what was put down but we had some trouble with the charging handle getting stuck in the rear of the gun. We had decided this would not be a good first purchase for me since it didn’t seem reliable and I need something Reliable to get some range time in with. The lady’s there said that was ok and we could find something of the same value or put more money down and we’re at the start nice about it. While I was looking at other rifles they then came over and said that I couldn’t trade it in or return it since I put the money down and already had it in my name. Remember this is before me and my dad leave the premises with the gun and not have taken a single shot. The lady we had working with us would not cooperate and had started to give us and attitude when we asked about trading it in because they just said we could and changed their story. This was very unprofessional and is ultimately a terrible business practice, we were prepared to purchase other firearms and put stuff on lay away but we will not be doing any business there again. THIS PLACE IS NOT A TRADING POST. Don't take anything here they will refuse it they don't buy anything anymore. Including game consoles or electronics. Don't even bring ammo brand new in the box they will refuse it. Don't even bring your guns to sell they will give you 20% or less even if they are brand new in the box with tags and a receipt. They only buy guns period and they only buy them if you're willing to get bent over a barrel. Don't believe me just try it for yourself.Or call with items you have and you'll see exactly what I mean. Don't take your gold or silver here they WILL SCAM YOU. I brought in 3 rolls of pre 64 Roosevelt dimes in bu condition awhile back. Only offered 40% of spot value turned around and took them to s&w coins in Gettysburg n got 85% of spot value. This place is not a trading post or a pawn shop. They need to change their name to "SCAMMY GUN & GOLD." It'd be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting. Come here and you will be taken advantage of if they will even accept your items at all. Same goes for the pawn shop in littlestown and any game store around the area you can name trust me they all are Adams County SCAMMERS. This place is only worth it to get firearms transferred because it's $25...

I have been to this place many times and every time I have gone I have gotten treated with the upmost respect . And once again they went above and beyond to be able to get me the proper firearm at the proper price . You have not been to a gun shop and less you've been to this place all other gun Shops should use this place as a reference on how to treat their customers. Today I bought A AR22 rifle This rifle will be giving me and my daughter many hours are fun and also training my daughter on how to properly use a firearm . Me while I was there the saleswoman knowing that I was looking for something else to carry that was smaller and more concealed pointed me in the direction of a firearm that they had in the 380 caliber She worked with me on the price point and was able to get it in my hands and out the door. Once again not only are they helping my young one to be able to learn how to shoot properly and handle a firearm but also keeping me in my family safe by providing me with a smaller safer weapon to carry. Everybody here at the Gettysburg outpost gets a thumbs up and an a plus in my book .if you come to the shop you will always be treated like family...
