When I first found this place with my husband, it was the greatest thing ever. Fresh produce,Great service, great quality selection of meats from a local farmer, and the owners farm supplied the eggs. Been going there at least a year after them opening . For the holidays Yuu could order fresh kill turkey, ham for Christmas and easter , Christmas trees. Since about September or as late as November, when the owner's wife decided she was going to retire from her job , she needed something to do and then all of a sudden everything started to change. There wasn't a lot of produce. They would change different things about how they would order. She ended up getting more things that a barn really shouldn't have. You wouldn't be able to get things and then she had the nerve to say that we should plan our meals with her but she had nothing there to plan. She did not. Should I go so far as to say that the eggs no longer were coming from their farm and that they were buying from another farm in another city and passing it off as their own while they still had the sign that said that they were selling eggs basically from their farm. Sad that something like this would actually happen, but if people don't know how to run a business, they...
Read moreThis is a lovely little country store. It has the gifts, decor pieces and knick knacks you might expect, but it really is a country store. Locally sourced meats, cheeses, eggs, dairy and produce can be found as well as local jellies, jams, pickles, syrups, and salad dressings. They have real cured country ham, coffees, teas, candies, sodas, chocolates and locally produced snack foods. They have pastas, sauces, seafood and even ice cream. Flowers, plants and potting supplies as well as pet snacks, soaps and lotions are all neatly displayed in this old but clean barn. Service was polite and prices were not excessive. If you want the charm of a real country store with local items that isn't just a place to sell things to tourists, please check this place out. So much to see,...
