Discount Drug Mart — Local services in Strongsville

Cashier working at 3:00 at register (near lighter fluid) on 2/19/2020 was rude and condescending. I needed fluid for a lighter and I told her REPEATEDLY that I needed the larger, black container. She kept saying, "Which one?" and pointing. The choices were either WHITE BUTANE containers and 2 Black containers, one large and one small. When I said again it was for a cigarette lighter, she said, "Well, I don't know about that. {smoking, I guess?} I felt like she was going out of her way to not be helpful and make me think I was being rude. I can understand if you are unfamiliar with a product, but don't make me work for you. Pick one and if it's wrong, I'll tell you. I don't want to play the race card, but it kind of felt like this was that kind of encounter. Not coming back to this location...

I don't know what it is, but whenever I buy any type of food from there, it differs from what you would get when buying the exact same item at a traditional grocery store. For example, I bought a couple box of cheezits on separate occasions and found them to be barely coated with the cheese flavoring. I've done side-by-side comparisons with a box bought from Walmart and the difference is visually obvious. Then I bought double stuff Oreos, only to find when I opened them they were single stuff. It's just little stuff like that which makes me wonder who their distributor is. Makes me think they buy product at discount based on some sort of defect during the manufacturing/packaging process, but sell at the same price (or higher) than you would at a store like Walmart or...

Store has good deals and friendly cashiers. But the folks in the deli, which I shop at a lot, need some better training and little help in the attitude department. I smile and be nice but mostly they look like they really hate being there! Plus they do NOT know how to slice deli meat. I ask for "shaved" and I get "sliced". I tried saying "shredded shaved" and still got "sliced." The manager of the store who was obviously filling in... was the the only one who got it right! Until today...JB, a very nice young man who actually smiled and talked with manners, did it exactly the way I wanted it! Thank you for hiring JB.
